I picked up food there hundreds of times. Best value without a doubt! Never had a bad meal. Beef, combos, 🌭 , polish on French bread, fries. Adding a slice 🍕 was a must!

I would get a Polish, which as you know came with fries, and a slice of 🍕 for $7+. Where can you find great chow at that price (in those days)? 1 of my favorite stops. I lived at Peterson/Cicero and drove to Mr Beef & Pizza dozens of times just to get it

I'm a Chicago guy and tried ALL the Beef places......IMO Mr. Beef had the BEST BEEFS!!!....... & the HUGE PIZZA SLICES were the BEST!!

Thee best in the neighborhood, until it was sold. I went there from when they first opened when i was a kid and Yes , they knew everyone by name! I would walk in and they all greeted me by first name. Later on when i had my daughter she always wanted to stop there everytime we were in the neighborhood, and she was greeted by her name too. now shes 18 and still talks about their pizza and beefs. We are going to have to visit naples ! Hi Danny and Anthony !!!! great to see your smiling faces !

growing up in Elmwood Park 50s-60s we always went to Johnnies on North Ave for Italian Beef and italian Ice after. never went to Mr. beef, so i can't compare the two...
