Some things are wrong by any code. Imo the they have piles of money (that we give them everyday) and they realize a need to invest in diversifying their economy. What I do not get is how is it sport washing when anytime they break into something, like golf, they have to face all their dirty laundry. Insults and so forth. Chamblee has no code imo. He criticizes how they treat women while women write books about how he treated them. The way he has talked about so many good people the last couple of years is crazy.

It’s simple, LIV threatens the Golf Channel. LIV is ad free, online and subscription free, completely breaks The Golf Channels business mould. The PGA feeds The Golf Channel. So Chamblee is using inaccurate rumours about Saudi to decry LIV. Does Chamblee drive? Where does the fuel come from, PIF the Saudi Financial investment fund own shares in most top 100 companies, does Chamblee buy from these companies? It’s nothing to do with Sports washing, Chamblee feels threatened, by a subscription free golf product.

Chamblee is a snooty jerk, but he is absolutely correct on what LIV is. If you are correct that LIV was about improving golf in Saudi Arabia, then most of the events would be held in the country, promoting golf courses there. You didn't mention the extreme hatred that Greg Norman has always had for the PGA, and the fact that LIV enabled him to finally create a disruptive alternative after several prior failed efforts.

The US Saudi relationship is a complex to say the least. The US want them as ally in the arab world but at the same time wishes that they would not practice Sbaria Law. Everyone still reading this should educate themselves about Sharia Law and make their own judgment. Brandel has made his opinion known and is using a "guilt by association argument" Furthermore, it should be obvious that he doesn't get a paycheck if the Golf Channel, who supports the PGA and DP world tours and barely can bring themselves to utter the word LIV in a sentence, fails or sees a drop in influence or revenue because of LIV. Has Brandel ever called out the PGA for its treatment of players? Sadly, all sides could do better, but likely won't because money is driving the decision-making process by all concerned.

Here's the simple truth...everyone is good at telling others what they should do. Saudis have a lot of money. Right or wrong they can do what they want. If we had that money we wouldn't always make the right decisions. All I want is for the Saudis to buy all the golf courses here in Toronto Canada and make golf super cheap. Take the PIF out of the equation, besides the payday for players what else makes LIV marketable? There are absolutely a cohort of LIV players I want to see at every major. How much income does the average Saudi get / earn / have? How is their healthcare? Their education system? Not a squeek from either of the rats, They just turn on the hate at the majors hoping to get inside LiV players heads.
