After all these years, rewatching Kanye go up and steal her young joy in that moment, watching her face fall afterwards, it breaks my heart for her young innocent soul at the time. I know she’s beyond successful in the years since, and she’s doing okay now as she has developed wisdom from maturity, but she has very publicly and transparently grappled with growing up and figuring out who she is, and when you’re a teenager, new in that industry, who measures your worth in the validation of others, you can just see her crumble in the moments that followed.

I think that Taylor was so down about Reputation not getting nominated for a Grammy was because it was her first album back after disappearing, and because I think what Kanye and Kim did to her was so nasty that winning the Grammy, or even just being nominated would be sticking it to them since that situation drove a lot of the attitude of the album. She wins and they lose. Kwim?
