Great vid. A tip. I always keep a few pieces of folded up aluminum foil for a moisture barrier in my fire kit.

Fantastic tip! I need to add some aluminum foil back into my kit...I always use it and forget to replenish it, lol. Thanks for the reminder :)

Have you had any issues with that RB3's edge holding up? I honestly am really looking at getting one cause the handle design and blade length is darn near perfect . It has a few bad reviews out there over the steal being to soft .
@AnthonyAwaken2 жыл бұрын
The Esee RB3 has been fantastic for me. I've used it in soft woods and hardwoods with no issues whatsoever. The heat treat seems right on par with all of the other Esee's I've had (which is a good thing). With any true scandi grind (one that doesn't have a secondary bevel) you want to be mindful that it's easier to nick or roll the edge on these blades versus something like a flat grind with a secondary bevel. With that said though, I probably give my hardest usage to my scandi's, lol. Sure, I roll the edge from time to time if I'm not careful around something like a knot, but they strop out. As for the handle and blade length...It really is perfect! I am a huge fan of the feel of this knife.

@@AnthonyAwaken Awesome too know, I have a Tops Brakimo and love their 1095 . I'm guessing Esee is no different accept that life time warranty which is killer. Anyways thanks for the reply back , I appreciate that a ton.

@@Airik1111bibles oh nice!! I love the Tops Brakimo...Joe Flowers, the designer of that knife, is a good buddy of mine actually. And yeah...The 1095 from both companies is pretty similiar in toughness/heat treat. If you like one, you'll most likely like the other as well.

Hey! Can I ask how long the fireROD’s rod itself is? On the Exotac site they mention it’s a half inch thick, but I was just curious on what it’s actual length is. Looks to be maybe 3.5”? Thanks!
@AnthonyAwaken2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, sorry for the delay here... - The exposed length is right under 3.5". - The entire length (with the threads) is right under 4". Hope that helps! - Anthony

How do you like that Lester River anorak?
@AnthonyAwaken2 жыл бұрын
Man, this Anorak is phenomenal. I have their Field Jacket as well...Which is nice for easy on & off. But the Anorak is my favorite and it's SO stinkin' warm! I put off buying one of these for many years because of the price. But with the amount of time I spend in the outdoors, I finally made the plunge and I was happy that I did.
