What do people drink on carnivore diet? I have steaks tons of chicken breast eggs some cheese and have been on this a month I drink coffee and a few tablespoons of milk.. i know that’s cheating probably as Dr Chaffee refers to coffee as plant based Water gets old 😮 I started carnivore in hospital got my A1C down out of diabetic range so I know it’s working ✔️

I have had excellent results by employing intermittent fasting & OMAD. The key for me is not to pass the 24-hour mark with my fasts. When I eat I make sure I eat very well. I only do OMAD 2 or 3 days per week, apart from this I'm eating twice per day but I am doing a fast every day a min of 17 hours. Another major part of the equation is making sure I have enough fat in my meals. This is vital as Dr Chaffee covers all the time. If you are not consuming enough fat the body may not release the stored fat. I'm now 11 days away from being a Carniovore for a whole year. My results have been nothing short of spectacular. A big shout out to Dr Chaffee as usual. :)

Hungry all the time?? Maybe at the beginning, as you are coming off carb addiction but after a short time you aren't feeling that way anymore and have to really remember eating to ensure you are getting the appropriate nutrition. Being on any "other" way of eating makes you hungry all of the time and constantly thinking about food and that next meal. People that take Ozempic are taking a drug which causes your body to think it's full (artificially) and also makes you want to do "nothing", while ketovore/carnivore gives you nutrition/constant energy and a constant calm and mindset of enjoying life.

Not sure i want to live forever, but it has kept me healthy, lean, excellent energy, and slow the aging process down - considerably. I’m 69 and have no plans of slowing down, now. Try tallow instead of blue cheese. Modern herds are nuked to keep disease from spreading. I use gut bacteria enhancements also due to modern meat. My goal is wild or non treated domestic meat in a year. My body is fat adapted. However, it's going to be at least 6 months before I'm strong enough to live on meat, salt and water only. It just takes time for the body to even be able to return back. But it will. And then you will realize the level of deception. It won't scare you, but it may piss you off for being treated in such a manner by our rulers.

On Carnivore I lost around 25 lbs in a year on really strict Carnivore. I thought I would lose more but my health benefits are unquestionably excellent with no joint pain, plantar fasciitis gone, unexpected healing my sun spots/ fungus gone . More calm more time not preparing food also I never feel starving like when I was on the SAD diet. I started working out and was able to push my muscles to the maximum but a different type than when my muscles were filled with glucose fully recovered after work out in 4 days usually that would be months or an injury.

I started carnivore diet at the beginning of December 2023 and after 6 months of ups and downs and falling off the wagon a few times it’s been an interesting journey of self discovery, self discipline, and ultimately self empowerment. In the end it came down to the power of high fat. Once I started making sure I was getting loads of fat (I started eating big chunks of butter as well as fatty meat), it was a game changer. The difference that made to my overall well-being was very noticeable, and my skin cleared right up. And the bonus was that my excess body fat melted away so quickly. I feel amazing! 🤩

@@EEEBA1the general rule of thumb is 70/30 fat to protein. That’s why so many of them like ribeyes, because it’s the exact macros. Maybe switch up your ground beef to a bit leaner percentage-and if you’re eating leaner meats like chicken breast, throw some butter on it.

@Ellie the first 3 days of fasting the metabolism slightly accelerates because your body expects you to hunt. As long as you're overweight, basically your metabolism does not change at all from fasting. There have been documented cases e.g. one dude fasted for 300+ days and kept losing the usual 300g fat per day, which means his metabolism didn't slow down at all because he was severly overweight. Your metabolism slows when you a) fast when you do not have adequate amounts of bodyfat anymore (starving) or b) if you do regularly eat below your caloric needs. Also if you sleep a lot and don't move, your metabolism slows, so some light exercise for 1-2 hours per day does prevent that. Fasting is a good idea because beyond weight-loss it works preventive to things like alzheimer and parkinsons by accelerating autophagy in the body (cellular repairs). It is recommended to do 1-2 longer fasts per year (5-7 days), that should be enough. If you want to lose weight, you can do more. Also fasting is excellent in preventing and reversing diabetes type 2. Things like intermittent fasting, OMAD etc help a lot!

My issue on carnivore is I can eat only about 5-6 oz of meat and then I'm full for 24-48h. The thought of eating more makes my stomach turn. I do have a lot of weight to lose, so maybe that's why. But seeing people take down a 16oz steak, with eggs and bacon blows my mind. I can't eat more than 3 eggs at once (and that's eggs alone, not with other things) or I feel like I'm going to die. I get so full I actually feel physically ill.

If you are just starting this can be from low bile reserves. Bile digests fat and gets recycled, so it builds up over time. In the meantime try easier to digest meats, but still get plenty of fat where you can. Definitely try lamb, it's fatty (especially the rack) and very digestible. Try adding in (not just outright replacing) non apex predator fish like salmon and shellfish. These are very lean (usually) so I would try to add in butter.

How much should I eat when eating like our ancestors? I eat when I am hungry, eat slowly, and stop when I start feeling full. No fluids an hour or so before, during, and an hour or so after eating. I have not eaten plants or plant derived products for four months. I have had numerous health benefits already, in line with other people having similar anecdotal experiences. I have done sports my entire life, and I presently do triathlons, including full ironmans. I have to eat twice a day. In the morning, I eat after a workout. Lately, I have been having ground beef, four eggs on top, and then a little cheese on the eggs. Cover and let low heat do its magic. And, I eat in the evening; I typically eat just a big steak. My body is still adjusting. My bike power at a given heart rate is up significantly. My endurance is better; no need to eat on a long ride. Moreover, my running pace at a given heart rate has improved significantly. Regarding day to day changes, I don't have energy lows anymore, my GI system is getting better and settling, cramping is resolving, and sleep pattern is generally better.

I am also doing HIT strength training at home to strengthen and build my muscles. I realize that it is hard to build muscle on OMAD but I have noticed some strength and size increases. I'm concerned that if I start eating more than one meal a day I will lose the autophagy benefits.

I cannot drop weight unless I am also incorporating regular fasting of 2-3) 24-42 hr fasts each week. A 72 hr fast 2-4 times per year also helps. I eat pretty high fat still any weight drop has been dreadfully slow for me.

In the Minnesota Starvation Study calories were cut in half for the subjects. The average caloric intake for the average 5’6” & 143# American Male was 3,500. The US Army estimated GI Joe living outside in the winter needed 8-10,000 calories. So the 3,500 number of calories was NOT for an active person. It was an average. So the subjects were fed 1,750 calories in the experiment. Ironically this is our current caloric recommendation. Seems odd for the USDA to recommend this.

Thanks for these videos. You're definitely my go-to-first for all things carn. You got a Q: from Staggs that is pretty close to my walk on this path. I'm 9 months on Lions, 5 months weight-plateaued. I eat primarily chuck roast. No good data on %fat there, but nutritionix says "58% fat calories". I eat until I can't fit any more and am still hungry/crave. 1-2 meals a day (usually one); 1.5 to 2.5 lbs a day. If I add more fat, bathroom-time is an absolute nightmare. After experiencing wicked foot cramps at night, I took Sally Norton's advice and supplement Calcium, Potassium & Magnesium Citrates, with Biotin, B1 & B6 (at her minimum doses), but only every other day (I REALLY want to believe that meat is all you need). And I drink about 3 quarts of water a day, and a sip of my wife's coffee once a week (to reminisce). To be completely honest, when my weight loss plateaued, my energy dropped off. I was feeling king-of-the-world there for 3 months, and now... blah. My brain fog came back. I use "Oxalate-dumping" as a scapegoat. It's hard though; knowing that all I need to do is have some au gratin potatoes and I'd be fine again (or even some other low-oxalate plant). It's even affecting my performance at work. I'm sticking with it, but it's definitely NOT all rainbows and unicorns like I've heard from others around the 9-month mark.

Seems for me, it's been a evolvement. Coming up 07/10/24 I'm a year into carnivore and, all the changes that have accrued have been nothing short of remarkable...things that are not suppose to change, did. Eating went from compulsive ( was Hyperglycemia) down to eating once a day. I recognized, when compulsively eating, I'd feel not all that great. I took it as a signal from my body to stop the compulsive eating and knocked it down to 3 meals then it turned into 2 meals and now 1 meal and feel even "more" better then before. I also seem best on beef and occasion pork chops some crustaceans and fish (homemade butter) . I ruled out chicken for not having the fat content needed, even with frying the chicken in bacon fat. Yes I have eggs with the beef as well as bacon...after that I'm good to go till bed time. I've notice too, "eating my big meal at 10/12 noon", I have plenty of time to digest the meal rather then eating that volume of meat at 4:30/5:30 pm and sleep very well and better then I' ever had.. Also took bout 9 mo's to become regular again. I recognized how much my body had to discard and went with that thinking for the duration... Am great, have pasted my medicals with flying colors ...rock on

Also, keep chilled fats in the freezer and snack on them. Look up steak and butter gal and ketogenic woman. High protein low fat acts just like cards to a diabetic due to gluconeogenesis. Lower the protein, up the fat...but be careful. Don't go extreme or you find disaster pants! I grill a couple pounds of cheapy high fat burger patties at a time, store them in the fridge and grab 3-4 for lunch. Easy peasy. Same for dinner. Cravings are non existent. I eat to keep on trucking and enjoy my day. What a difference.

I slowly have decreased and cut out nuts, seeds, fruits, and have been strict carnivore for 3 days and my hip joints are so much better already than they’ve been in about 6 months. @jts842. There are several youtube doctors that talk about the production of NO. The breathing exercise is amazing. Do a search for it. Basically it is heavy deep inhales through the nose and exhale through the mouth for about 2 1/2 minutes. You might get dizzy at first and will have to reduce the time you do it. It works. Amazing. And, red meat is a rich source of arginine, an amino acid that can be converted into nitric oxide. A lot of vegan types try to use NO as an argument against eating meat....and once again, they are wrong.

I am in the camp that says carnivore is not a weight loss diet. At some point on a carnivore journey, your body weight will stabilize and will vary one way or another a few pounds. Then, you can vary your weight by eating less or more. Some people do this, like Shawn Baker, depending on where they want to be. Many people say they can not stabilize their weight on the carnivore diet. One reason is they are not eating enough fat and meat. It takes some folks a lot of time to adjust. A few years is not unreasonably long for this to occur. After all, many of us have screwed our bodies over for decades. While many issues are reversed fairly quickly, for some, that is just not the case. Carnivore is not a quick fix diet, it is a journey.

One thing I really haven't seen addressed by people that advocate for ketogenic, ketovore, or carnivore diets is the amount of total protein one should be eating. Most of the people that are coming to this way of eating seem to be coming from obesity, extreme obesity, and other health related issues. I don't currently suffer from anything like that, though I did want to lose weight and get my body fat down to about 15%. However, I also want to continue to build muscle. Do you adhere to the premise that you need a gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight? That seems to be the norm from most trainers and fitness coaches.

>> Most of the people that are coming to this way of eating seem to be coming from obesity, extreme obesity, and other health related issues. That's a solid "nope". The weight loss thing gets the most attention, and that's pretty irritating, at least to me. >> you need a gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight? Back when I was doing plain old keto with lots of green veggies, I found that to get into ketosis I had to reduce my protein intake to somewhat near that level. I never measured it that carefully, but after I noticed I was eating far too much protein, I restricted it to a lump of meat about the size of my palm, and I removed the much of the whites from any eggs I was eating. I went full carnivore about a year ago, and I no longer restrict my protein intake. I eat once a day, and I normally have a ribeye steak and 3 or 4 egg yolks. Plus, at least half a stick of butter. I had to increase my butter intake to get everything to click. I am an athlete. Don't listen to "most trainers and fitness coaches." Find out what works for you by actually doing it. Try switching to carnivore for 30 or 90 days and see what happens. I tried the 30-day BBB&E challenge a year ago, and simply never stopped.

The QnA is so helpful, shoutout to staggs, asking exactly my situation too, meat never tasting bad but getting too full. Though I'm trying to increase fat, so I started eating more brisket this week.

I'm full carnivore, no seasonings. I've been getting headaches everytime i try to eat moderately. I have been trying to eat less because my wieght gain was getting out of control. Other than the headaches i feel great. I dont have 6 months or 2 years to reverse the wieght loss as the wieght is causing me back pain. I have been losing wieght since i started moderating but the headaches are killing me. I eat alot of fat and follow everything you say except i do eat dairy now which improved my mood. I also tried really hard to eat until it tastes bad and but it would not happen. Love your advice otherwise. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions if you see this. Thanks for everything you do.

Hi Anthony, I have a request. A friend of mine, in Perth, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. His doctors have told him "not to Google as it will take him down a rabbit hole." And he is a lawyer, he is a smart cookie, and he has chosen to follow his doctors advice. Two of us in his social group are carnivore, and we have failed to convince him that carnivore will help. His doctors have told him to go low carb, which is good, but I am certain his definition of low carb is not what mine might be. Can you do a video of "My doctor told me not to Google about cancer" what do I need to do to help myself. I know the first stage of being diagnosed is shock and grief. After that is friends running at you with suggestions wanting to help. How do they handle those situations and still know that they may need to do it differently than what their doctors have suggested?

Maybe during Dr Chaffee's next live you can ask the question... If you ask it before it actually starts he may be able to answer and you can send the answer to your friend. 😊

Please, Allow me to ask a couple of question about the Carnivore diet .(Sorry if i already posted before but i dont know what to do) : I am now over 180 days into a Strick Carnivore diet (I only eat meat and eggs. Nothing else but 500-600g of COCKED meat plus 7-8 eggs in a day. All Divided in 2 meals) I am now 35 years old, 181cms tall, 180lbs(+-81,5kg) at +-22%BF. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week.(lift weigths to help sustain or increase muscle mass and assist fat loss- HIT Workouts) I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a HEALHTY guy with NO chronic illnesses or health problems. I lost about 17 lbs(8kg) in the first 9 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 8 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements like waist, legs, arms and neck ).In fact i have gained 2,5 lbs(1KG between weeks 10-12, but it might be just water. I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor have I changed my body composition significantly I am now over 12 weeks with no body fat lost. So I would like to ask a few question about the Carnivore diet: 1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnivore diet to be able to lose the excess bodyfat I still have?(at least 15lbs of fat) 2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?(how many weeks or months) 3-Is the Carnivore diet effective for those who are aldreay healthy and just need to improve body composition? I am affraid this way of eating is too restrictive, for a healthy person, with no aditional benefit from any other whole food diet. PS: Most of my time as a Carnivore i have not experience most Carnivore benefits or lost any body fat. Also, Sorry for any grammar mistake, i am Brazilian and english is not my first language. Thank you for your attention!.

I did a fat fast for 5 days. That kicked my system into high gear. 85% fat, 1200 calories a day. Whatever you choose, wishing you the best 💖

Well, the carnivore diet is the Proper Human Diet according to Dr Berry and Dr Chaffee and thousands of others following it. What other way of eating would you choose? Stick with it and make sure you are not consuming any hidden carbs or packaged products or dairy (especially cheese). Make sure you are eating enough for your metabolism. 21 ounces or beef daily might not be enough for you at your young age. Believe it or not, undereating will stop your progress. It is very hard to overeat on a fatty meat, whole food diet.

Sometimes, you are gaining through muscle mass as you lose fat. So you might be losing fat slowly but it hasn't become a visua fatl loss yet.

You're right. Carnivore is an elimination diet to rid your body of problem foods. So, if you are carnivore and add back in foods you like (not processed junk, of course), you can see how your body handles it. Sadly, people think carnivore is heavily studied and researched. Its not. It's pseudoscience. There's more research on keto/ low carb diets than carnivore/lion diet. If you feel good stay on it, if you don't try something else. It's your body. Listen to it. Good luck

Regarding what you said about ground beef being better cooked rare to medium rare , i heard you shouldn't as there is more bacteria in ground beef and shouldn't have it pink at all, is there any truth to this?
