thanks Anthony - excellent tips as always. I use the metadata search field quite a bit - one tip for people is that if you want to select more than one shutter speed, or more than one lens focal length (for example) you can click the first one of the range and scroll to the last one and shift click to select all of them. One annoying omission in LR is that you can't easily search for an image dimension - BUT you can change name of files in collections or folders using the LR Rename Files tool and then use the custom feature to include the Cropped size of the image and then your file name includes that - and so searching using the name search in the library module is possible. All my file names now include this data to help with finding smaller or larger dimension photos

Hi Anthony many thanks for this very usefull video! I appreciate your talent to explain things even if english is‘t my origin language. There is also a function in the library module I use sometimes: In the list collections/ smart collections are a few search functions like „5 stars“, „red marking“ and others. I find „ no keywords“ very usefull for those of us who use keywords. Sometimes I forget to give keywords to edited pictures and this function helps to find all the pictures without keywords in a simple way.

Great video as usual Anthony, there`s a lot here that I knew but many of the items I didn't know you could do or do it that way like stacking attributes for instance, so thank you for putting this video up and I look forward to the next `revelation video` from you.

I've used LR for years and use the search on occasion. I learned a few things today. Thank you.

Very good video today. I always wanted to know how to identify photos “not in a collection” or “no GPS coordinates”.

Absolutely outstanding Anthony. How the heck do you do such deep, lost, long time ago, or just darn unknown tools, searching, and everything else that is unknown to this old Bloke wandering around in the VERY BEST COUNTRY, looking for photography sites. You astound me. But I’ll be back. 😎

Thank you. Using this method, would it be possible to search for specific text in file names and replace the text with something else?

Hi Anthony! I always enjoy and learn a lot from your Lightroom tutorials, thanks much for posting them! Regarding todays posting 'Searching in Lightroom', do you know of a way to search by 'Import Date'? I would find that helpful at times! Thanks Anthony!

Hello Anthony. Nice turn sir. I do have a question about your catalog. When you go out and take let’s say 200 pictures, do you keep all those 200 photos in the catalog OR do you select some of them and discard/delete the ones you don’t like???

Hey Anthony, Topaz DeNoise just updated and the new version is very different. I sent a raw file to DeNoise, let it do its magic and sent it back to the source file as a DNG. I import all my files in LR Classic to an external Samsung 5T hard drive and I can't file the DeNoise file anywhere. Please make a video that addresses this issue if you can as I need Help, thanks!

Topaz has a very recent KZbin video that shows how to use the new Raw. And it’ll show you how to get the DNG back into Lightroom

In the video, you were able to do a "global" search by going to the root directory of you Lightroom files. In my setup, the Lightroom folders are all under the drive's letter designation. There is no root directory for Lightroom files. Is there a way to (1) create such a directory; and (2) move the current directories into the new directory? Thank you!

Another great video Anthony and that will be helpful however Topaz DeNoise just updated and the new version is very different. Topaz has a very recent KZbin video that gives a very good overview of their new raw version. And it’ll show you how to deal with getting the DNG back into Lightroom.

Hey Anthony, DeNoise Ai has just been updated and it's really different. I dragged the raw file from Lightroom Classic into DeNoise, allowed it to do its magic and saved it to the source file as a DNG but when I get back into lightroom I can't find it. All the Lightroom photos that I import from the Canon R5 are saved in a Samsung 5T external hard drive. I don't see the DeNoise photo anywhere......Help!

How about just searching for a file number? I'm sure that's easy to do.
