I think John B was afraid of testing the power dynamic. Sarah is a kook after all and if he makes a move and she turns on him it would end extremely bad for him. So he let her be the one to lead and decide what was okay. He is along for the ride but constantly questioning if the interactions are genuine or not. I believe John B would’ve made a move if it was with another pogue because he considered them a peer but Sarah, in a way, he considered as a superior.

Yes! That and I feel for any guy getting mixed signals from a girl in a relationship. The questions at the end felt very genuine because how is he not to know she's just playing with him before she goes back to her boyfriend and her life. Also, what do you think? Isn't it a good thing that a guy isn't jumping at the chance to make a move on a girl with a boyfriend even though he hates the guy? It felt like a positive in the character department at this early point in a connection.

I used to see a women who's mother was a diplomat and I can see a similar dynamic in this one. She was much more comfortable and open because of the consequences at stake.

I feel like before this episode we can see John B is interested in Sarah but in scenes he's alone, never when he's around Sarah OR his friends. And I think he doesn't show it much bc she's a kook and they are supposed to be enemies, plus he knows Sarah and Kiara have a beef so I feel like he's not allowing himself to like her because he doesn't think it's a good idea to go there which makes it seem like he's not interested whenever he's around her. But we have seen him before watching her sleep and just checking her out from a far and I feel like that's the only time he feels like it's safe because he does like her but she's a kook and has a bf and it's just not "acceptable" at that point. John B has standards, he's not really the type of a guy to go after someone else's gf before he knows its genuinely mutual interest which Sarah shows him it is and then basically lets him decide if he wants to go for it or not because he's the Pouge that will be "in trouble".

Personally, as a guy that’s never had much success with women until recently, I’ve had to retrain my brain to want to make any move at all when I’m with a girl, even when we’re on a date. I grew up with the women in my life telling me that I should not try anything at all and let the women decide or “tell me” if it’s ok to do anything, and I have to say that it was extremely difficult to break out of that mindset at the age of 20 (I’m 22 now). It’s not that I was afraid of making the move, I was actually more afraid of making a girl uncomfortable if I guessed wrong, or if I got the wrong idea, which for me was really common. So looking back on it now, there were times when I could’ve made a move but didn’t because of this fear and the fear of being wrong. It’s a pretty serious thing nowadays for a guy to be wrong about that. But luckily, with a little bit of KZbin content, red pilled dating knowledge, body language studies and some practice and experience, it’s gotten a lot easier to break out of this self sabotaging habit. I am able to make a move a lot more easily now to the point where it actually feels natural. I didn’t want to turn this into too much of a serious thing, but I just felt like it needed to be said to some extent. I was taught growing up, as well as a lot of other guys, that making a move on a girl is somewhat of a bad thing for some reason and I had to do a lot of work to reverse that way of thinking. I love your content Anthony and I keep learning new things on every video. I did not know what flirty body language was until now 😂. Keep up the good work!

Wow. Yea I really want to see you do this for Vampire Diaries. The Stefan and Elena relationship has so much depth(and spectacular onscreen chemistry!). Though the pilot is a little cheesy (the series has an endearing 00s rough around the edges charm lol, and seasons 1-3 have great Kevin Williamson character writing), I'd love to hear your thoughts on them! The relationship was meant to be a boy and girl who feel dead inside bringing one another back to life, it's so beautiful. It would be even more interesting to see you compare to Damon and Elena (the more popular relationship with a cult following), especially since I'm an outlier who thinks they have zero chemistry and detest their writing/portrayal, it would be interesting to get your take!
