I think it would've looked a bit better if you could've removed more of those rust pits in the blade, but other than that & maybe re-tempering the blade, it looks amazing. Great craftsmanship.

Blade should have been retempered, the metal was too soft. It needed hardening. That nice sharp edge you made will be gone in a couple times of use.

Since the blade was not heated, there is no need to quench and temper again.
