This discussion of Zionism wouldn’t even be a thing today if the West hadn’t given somebody else’s homeland to a people with almost zero claim to the land and at any rate were absent for two thousand years…. Justice in 1945 would have been to create a Jewish homeland in Europe by taking land from those who perpetrated the holocaust. Chomsky is a giant. Hearing him for the first time in 1992 rocked my world and set me on a path of actual study and critical thinking instead of just accepting the narrative put forth by governments and corporate media.

Indeed and agreed. The fact that Abba Eban in the first place has made that suggestion, just shows, even as Noam has alluded to that to lie and deceive is an acceptable practice in politics. Why? In the new world that we are trying to form, that should no longer be acceptable, and it becomes less and less acceptable. No one, absolutely no one can stop this emerging world, which is one of brotherhood, honesty, and all the spectrum of sharing and ethical values. This dishonesty has no place in such a world.

@@har3036 Could be ! More and more people today would like to see ONE state from the river to the sea, with arabs and Jews living together with equal rights. One consequence of this will be that half if not more of the israelis will leave (jewish and arab israelis) and try to settle in Europe and America, while palestinians who are descendants of refugees will take their place.

@@thejollygreendragon8394 Nope, I love them both equally. It is personally edifying to be able to call out evil when you see it. Many of my Arab friends agree. (the way antisemitism is now defined, it doesn't include people from races that are actually semitic. )

@@SWI-k5g My claim is that Zionism should be condemned because of the evils that they have perpetuated, but the same is also true of Judaism as a religion. Both are connected and both are "evil". (I'm an atheist) Israel needs to be dissolved for the good of humanity. If you tell a lie often enough, it becomes Israel.
