I appreciate your comments, but you have to understand that they these days tend to be like AI-generated, even if they are not. They all follow the same schema, and we have to look for small details that differ. This said with appreciation, from one music lover to another. One example of your writing is that you always talk about "der intelligente und geniale Dirigent" in all of your comments. With this said, best greetings to you, my music friend!

This is an outstanding performance. It just so sad Bruckner never got a chance to finish this. I know Sir Simon Rattle recorded this with the B. F. Orchestra with a finished ending. I don't know if I'm all that thrilled with that ending. I just know I have enjoyed this performance immensely. More so than Rattles. It's good, but not as good as this. Thank you so much for uploading Magnificent performance.

Yes, I have read that Bruckner worked on a 4:th movement until the day he died. But in my opinion I am almost glad he never finished it. For me this third movement is the perfect ending of a life with music.

He composed a fourth movement but didn't finish it, I think. After his death many people took Papers from the movement as a gift. So the movement was scattered all over the world.

Jochum did the first movement in under 23 minutes. Furtwängler is under 24 minutes. Schuricht with BRSO also under 24 Skrowaczewski also under 23 Van Beinum under 24. Dohnyani also under 23 Haitink under 24 Kubelik under 24 I can keep going. Honeck’s tempos are well within historic norms. Especially when one regards the side of the interpretive spectrum that treats Bruckner as a modern symphonist rather than as a mystic. Our French friend hasn’t heard much Bruckner methinks.
