I would use "The Olmec" as the name for the colony. The Olmec were known for dealing with green jade. In fact Jade is a particularly precious material within the society, and it was used as a mark of rank by the ruling classes. With the jade green queen and the brown workers. This would make sense, and be a good history point.

Maybe "The Jadeite Artisans" could work for a colony name. Jadeite is considered to be higher quality Jade as well as a very sturdy mineral (expressing high hopes for the new colony). The artisan part is in reference to their nest weaving. (I recognize this is very similar to other name suggestions already)

I like the idea of leaving them in the bottle for now, setting it up in a terrarium after a bit of growth with plant medium, and allowing them to move out on their time scale. I feel like the “Copper architects” would be a good name because copper is golden brown like the worker ants but when it ages and oxidizes it turns a nice greenish blue, like the queen and also implies that the queen is older and therefore wiser.

Hey! So, first time ant owner here. I purchased an AC ant tower for my future colony of tetramorium ants. I just wanted to say how grateful I am that you and whatever amazing team you have for making such amazing products. A lot of these ant farms/formicariums are poorly built and are really just for amusement and curiosity. AC products do have that aspect of seeing your ants build an empire, but it is also safe for the ants and keeps them happy and healthy. Okay, for a name I thought the "Jade Jaggernauts" Or something different and unique like the "Leafy Legion". As for what you should do moving forward with how to house the ants, I agree that they should stay in the bottle mostly undisturbed until they show signs that they are progressing. It's common knowledge that they usually will show signs that they've outgrown their nest and are ready to expand or move. It's entirely too soon to make any arrangements. I would just watch them closely for signs that they are and then move forward

If you're still taking name suggestions: how about "(col)Dan's Den" This may seem like a very obscure reference to Falling Skies, but it does make sense. Not only is the character called Colonel Dan Weaver always dressed in green, but the aliens are insect-like, have workers and royalty, and use the young ones in their structural work. They also have a hive mind like ants seem to have.

Dude I worked in forestry in queensland Australia, Middle of nowhere and these guys where everywhere. I never seen anything like them before. Nothing like these guys in Ireland. These are so smart and So fascinating. The were super bright green there. Well there rears, If you went to close to a tree where they are nesting to thin out the forest rows. These would actually form a massive line and March towards you . Thousands of them . Climb up your machine,your boots, legs back and bite ya. Brave dudes.

I was thinking, as they are arboreal, we could have the colony be named after something plant-related, and I'd found several words relating to a group of trees or bushes! I rather liked Verdure, which means green foliage or vegetation We could call them the Verdurians, i think that's really pretty There's also more obvious names that go along the lines of Emerald Empire or such n such, but personally Verdurians sounds much better (though that may be biases)

You should try collecting her wings and framing them above their forever home. Just something I thought of to honor the Jade Empress. I was thinking of things that are green, and then a name came to mind...Green Army Women. I thought of the iconic Green Army Men toy soldiers from the Toy Story movies. And like the Green Army Men, they are small but also fierce and determined. I think the name suits them. You already have an empress, and an empress needs a grand army! I have two other suggestions. The Ivy League. Yes you probably think of college, but ivy can also mean an evergreen plant. And they love the trees, leaves, and are willing to grow...like the evergreen ivy! The name also compliments ants' intelligence in general Or, Tree Huggers, as I've said, they love trees, and they take advantage of living on them. If you don't use this name for them, perhaps save it for another arboreal species!

Hey AC I recently moved my colony into a plant setup but they only have 11 workers and I feel this wasn’t a good decision but I had no choice because their tube had mold should I just put them in a new tube or keep them in their setup? Ps.they haven’t moved into the plant yet they are just in their tube inside the natural setup

I'm not sure about other countries but I live in Austraila and here we eat those ants with the green on them and they taste like lemon and pepper. Very strange but also very interesting.

The queen is about 2cm (about the size of a carpenter ant queen, just a different shape) but yes the ants are indeed small. Ant love forever!
