If you ever need a third island. Give some thought into maybe making a "kokedama" ball. It is a ball of soil wrapped in moss. Usually it is made around a plant but you could use a bonsai tree. It can hang or be placed on an acrylic pole as well as being placed in a dish. You might have to get creative with it. I just thought it might be unusual. The inner soil could be used by the ants. They usually have to be submerged to be watered but a daily misting should be just fine depending on how large it is. This idea may not work at all for ants but I just thought I would suggest it. Maybe you could get some inspiration from the idea. Thanks for the videos.

Hey antscanada, just repeating an idea here to give it more attention: Have the trees on each island grow towards each other and eventually grow together! Then you can get rid of the old bridge and repurpose it for fresh islands where the trees haven't bound yet. The trees binding together would be a really cool way to connect the islands and get the ants on the tree more, as well as allow the mealy-worms to travel between trees easily.

Chris Correa Well if the tree is growing as rapidly as is shown in the past videos (he could be exaggerating, so correct me if he is), and both trees were growing toward each other, it may only take like 6 months or so; and considering that he only uploads weekly, as far as time on his channel goes, it seems to fly pretty fast. The titans weren't even around for a full year, the camponotus colony was intruduced like half a year ago, etc etc.

Name the bridge The Twisting Jaguar- Because the end near the new island looks like a jaguar.
@samuelkwon96616 жыл бұрын
1 thing you must do to maintain the island of Avista, is add water daily. -as a bonus, the other 2 things are that you must wire shape the tree, and give them protein (insects, etc.)
@SmokeyBBQx6 жыл бұрын
At 15:43 it looks like a lion grabbing the ledge, you should name the bridge something based on a lion or something with animals, because you can also see many different animal faces on the stick.
@karolfortuna85226 жыл бұрын
Was just checking if anyone noticed it in comments with intention to report it, haha. I'd bet for sth like "Lion's grasp", at least as name for that docking point :P //edit: These are animals which i could "find" and "identify". At the bottom of driftwood are 3 kind of weird faces. Propably with a bit more of imagination one can find even more weird stuff in this extraordinary wood piece :D Link to ss edited with images of animals and where did i spot them :p ibb.co/hFXvYe

Remember to trim those bonsai trees so they dont become rootbound!
@cooperolm96876 жыл бұрын
Bonsai are almost inherently root bound in their tiny pots, it's part of what helps keep them small along with pruning the branches periodically and pruning the roots every year or two. Trimming the upper branches (I think that is what you are saying to do?) will not really effect the growth of the roots.

You should secure that bridge with something. An unnoticed accident during the night and all ants on the bridg escape or worse, it could form a bridge between the colony and the room.

I was repotting my money plant when the ants all broke loose. I had no idea my tiny plant housed a colony of its own. It even had alates, and the colony all moved even their broods out. In a matter of seconds, they relocated the whole colony into the new soil. I felt as though I have my ants channel. It was fascinating. Thanks to this channel, I'm an advocate of ants and urging my friends not to kill the ants as they are good for our plants. When there are plants, there'll be ants, it's inevitable. #antloveforever
