I've noticed that most of the comments are from Indians, so I decided to comment just to mix it up and show that your work is appreciated by people all over the world. You're doing an amazing job in popularizing and explaining the nuanced beauty of Indian music.

Exceptional video-- this is invaluable to a Westerner like me who has always been inexplicably drawn to Indian Classical Music. Your explanations of all of these concepts through your videos are superb. Now that I am understanding Hindustani music more, it is amazing how listening to the music has become an even deeper experience than before. Your videos will help to ensure that this amazing cultural artistic heritage will never die out. So happy to see a bright young person in India so enthusiastically teaching this. Truly wonderful, thank you~

I really like how you incorporated different varieties of bandishes created by great classical vocalists of India apart from old ones for example Sahela re for Bhoop by Kishori Amonkar is one of my all time favorites. Amazing & interesting presentation for Indian classical music with respect to Thaat.

Hi Anuja Kamat. I have been searching a lot since long for a proper understanding of the basics of Indian classical music. I even went to some gurus here in Canada. But the way you present the information was excellent. Now I am quite comfortable with my search and can move ahead in learning. You are not only a good singer but a really good teacher. I am wondering do you have any online classes. Thanks a lot. Shahid

Anujaji - I like your episodes, first time I could see such a detail information about Indian Classical raags. I love Indian classical music - I keep singing lot of songs, Bhajans, Gazals and folk songs based on Indian raags but I do not have detail classified knowledge about raags as I have not taken formal training with any Guru. However, your episodes give some short of understanding about classical music. I wish I could meet you when I come to India (normally every year I come to India - Vadodara for one month). Anyway, if I am lucky I may meet you and learn more from you. Please keep it up your services to people like me those who have left India and having very less opportunities to learn classical music. Thanks a lot.

I am a quite new entrant to the realm of Hindustani music. Coming from the southern part of the country, I was more familiar with Carnatic music, though i used to like the Hindustani touch in film songs from the South. Your videos have made me eager to learn more about Hindustani music. Really appreciate your efforts. Keep doing more !!

Can you please do a comparative analysis of Thaat and Raga? I am saying this because I have read in texts that thaat must have 7 notes in it while raga must have at least 5 notes (only) in it. While thaat only has aaroha, raga must have both aaroha and avaroha. Thaats don't have vaadi and samvaadi while ragas have them. I know these are basic things. But, to a naive like me, such a discussion would be very helpful.

Namaskar I find this content to be not only extremely useful; it also transpires generosity and luminosity besides (obviously) great skil and immense dedication to music studies. Only "down side" 😉 would be, you are such a charming and enchanting young lady, one COULD get distracted from the content, but it doesn't come to that, music rules 😅. 🙏🏼

Thanks Anuja You answered my question😊 More than 40 raaga u sung with brandish great hats off to your memory ! I understood Thaat and no of ragas covered . One observation and suggestion In first 2 slide you showed all raaga in pictorial form which are coming under 1st Thaat then as video progressed you explained difference in notes but raaga were sung one after another I noted down but it would have been better if there was slide showing list of raaga under that specific one. It will be more interesting to see cover all Thaat in detail Looking forward to hear in detail Also if we cover our legendaries belong to which gharana e.g marwa, Gwalior etc. God bless you Om Shanti Dhim tum na din ta nan ud nit din tadan tana tadiyan ta na na Ta na dim ta din tanan tana tadiyan Diyan tanan tadim tanan tan tadiyaan ta na ta na Dhim tu tan ta dim tana Raga Nata Bhairav

Ma'am, could you please inform us through a video the concept of usage of "Tanpura" (Let it be the original instrument or the digital tanpura Box) I have numerous doubts regarding this.. as if, 1. Why is it that the swaras SA PA SA are played continuously in that instrument? 2. There are some more combinations, i.e. SA MA SA, SA Ni SA etc.etc.. What are the differences? Why are those combinations? 3. What is the reason behind selecting a particular set? 4. How to select a set for a particular song? (Let it be classical or Light) .......... The list goes on. Many others may have these doubts. So pls upload an informative video in this regard. Thank you
