I remember reading the amz book 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels and realizing that anxiety wants to fight, it wants me to focus on it and struggle to fight it away...because it knows that the anxious mind cannot overcome its anxious thoughts. Silence has been the ultimate healer for me. Just 10 min a day of sitting in silence and breathing. It's so simple yet so effective.

Our mind is stronger than any desire, craving, impulse or anxiety that we have. I believe we are here to aspire to the highest human achievement there is, ie, self-mastery. The Stoics for example, would never accept defeat from their own brain; they know their higher mind is in charge if they just allow it to guide them. Yes, sit in silence each day when seeking calm and peace, and believe that we are very much in control of our own mind. I feel like I´ll be practicing the ¨pause before reacting¨ technique every day for life, but few things are more important. Take care and thanks for the reminder to love and employ silence, too.
