Beginner this summer and i’ve watched more of these videos than i’ve been on the course. Kids and wife and lite you know. Yesterday i played my first 18-hole round. Followed your tips and tricks and played a 114. With an average of 2.56 putts and ond hole with two OBs i’m pretty happy! Feel i’ll break 100 if i don’t try to play heroball and practice my putting! Started playing in April and have flirted with 100 for a few weeks now. Found your channel a couple of days ago and used your system today. Wrote my new par #s on the card and played to it, hit 7 iron exclusively off the tee and most approach shots, no hero shots, PW and SW for nearly all pitching and chipping except for 2 or 3 bump & run chips, had 33 putts, shot a 93. It effing works like a baus!

Keep the ball in play, minimize OB’s, especially off the tee, add 1 shot to the par of every hole, putt around the green whenever possible - easy game, easy life 👌🏻

Most beginners are trying to force the strike and attempting to hit the ball too hard. This concept also generates too deep of a backswing that causes an immediate disconnect.

@GolfSidekick What is your driver length. I have started to incorporate my driver more into my game and I have less dispersion when I grip down. I was a big slicer but feel I need to baby it to not slice. Stock driver length is 46, Ben Hogan GS53 Max, was thinking about shortening. When I grip down about an inch, I can incorporate more club head speed and get 230-250 carry without the slice (sliced 2/10 at the range yesterday).

Just remember if you cut down your shaft you'll have to tip trim also and might have to add lead tape to driver head to compensate for swing weight loss and keep the same feel as your original shaft. A lot of pros go 44.5" in driver length.
