I love Metallica, and I can be realistic. I don’t love every song on any given album, but there are 4-5 songs on this I can’t stop listening to even a year or so later. Same with Hardwired. I think these last two albums were good and I don’t care what people say when they are the same ones still complaining about Napster. Metallica evolved and still made good music. Get over it.

When Metallica release music they have ALWAYS had loud haters. Im talking all the way back to 1984, people hated on them for Fade To Black. Theres always something. When you're top dog, you always have a bullseye on your back. But don't forget: they're still top dog. And releasing bangers like this 40 years later just solidifies it more.

Show me people who hated Master of Puppets or And Justice For All. I was there. Master of Puppets left people speechless. Folks were bummed about Burton passing away, but And Justice For All was a critical metal masterpiece of its time. I saw them during the Monsters Of Rock tour with Van Halen, The Scorpions, Dokken and Kingdom Come. Metallica had the entire stadium respecting what they did even if it wasn't who they came to see.

@georgen58826 ай бұрын
He blew out his voice on the black album initially. That’s when he first started taking it seriously. I don’t recall him doing more damage again, but it’s possible. If you watch a year and a half in the life of he talks about that specifically and they show him doing warmups before a show etc. I’m sure the drinking and overall voice strain didn’t help, but considering all that his voice has aged very well

The only thing that puts me off about new Metallica is the lyrics. Old school lyrics were layered and told a story. Creeping death, Sanitarium, Master of puppets, even the load era songs like Until it Sleeps and Hero of the Day. This version of Metallica, which I still freaking ADORE, btw, just doesn't have that same, I dunno, poetry to the lyrics. There are lots of single words and fragmented sentences. I noticed it on all four singles so far. The last three albums, in fact. It's like the poetry is gone entirely from most of the songs. Not a big complaint. Just something I've noticed. I'm still a mega fan. Seen them live 5 times, have tickets to the listening party next week, and preordered the album. Let's go!

Total agreement. It would be funny for James to come out at some point each show, pull up a stool and say something to the effect of, "It's been said that we've been repeating ourselves, so I decided each tonight to perform a special song for you, Metallica family, tonight I present..." then launch into a karaoke version of a weird tune: All By Myself, Send in the Clowns, Sunshine Lollipops & Rainbows, the Fraggle Rock theme, it'd be hilarious!

When Hardwired came out I thought it boring and uninteresting. But as a life long loyal 'Tallica fan I bought the album. After hearing it all it became ALL I wanted to listen to! Sometimes you just need to catch the vibe of the record. (It took me a couple years to hear PJ's Ten. But boy did I hear it!) I am excited to buy this albumand listen to it on repeat! Long live Metallica!!!❤️ Metallica for Life!❤️

Wow I haven’t listened to Metallica in 20 years and I’m in shock by how awesome this song and video are. Wtf did Metallica decide to be Metallica again?

Metallica... running the 8 minute + songs since the beginning. You cannot mistake them for anyone else,l. The riffs are perfectly theirs. Fantastic x

What DJ could resist the opportunity to go for a wee, or even a PowerPoo if they are well trained during this song?

They just know how to write a riff don't they, such a tight band. This one definitely going onto my gym playlist.

Love the fact you're are giving Metallica the love they deserve. There are quite a few KZbin creators with their musical knowledge giving them a hard time. Because they are not just listening to the music. They are critiquing them with this musical knowledge and ruining experience. They expect it to be some peice by Mozart and full of technical stiff. I think Metallica at this point are just making feel good music. As for songs being long and intros being long, isn't that what they did with their classic stuff. Loads of build-up intros have been made on them old albums.

The thing about them and their music it's just too familiar. Some of it is the same thing over and over. But they have their base.

The live version is when you see the song evolve into what it's meant to be. Matallica is the only band on earth that actually sounds better live than on a record...these tracks are blueprints for the real deal on stage. I mean go listen to Halo on Fire off the album...then watch a video of the same song live...it's like night and day...there's no comparison.

FAR from the only band to sound better live!

Old fan here, couple good songs on the album, but no gems, I know we compare to early stuff a lot and the last few albums give you even more appreciation for the early albums, they were that good. I’m glad they are still doing it and with new found energy. So we salute you.

Their riffs have been stock since after DM. They could release 12 of the same song and people would buy it,l but let's face it, they need a producer who's not a yes man.
