I was 13 when AoM came out and I played it on and off ever since. The past year I introduced it to my 10 year old son and he really enjoyed it. I couldn't believe when a remake suddenly showed up on steam. They have done a really good job with it. Feels like it honors the original but it's also not just a copy. Fun exploring the civs over again with new balancing

4:58 this happen to me A LOT in first day or so, because in AOE3 shortcut for houses is E, however in AOM it's Q and E is for economic building (depends on faction). So I am pretty sure this is a mistake and he was trying to build houses.

that means the developers did a good thing when veteran age of empires 2 players are coming to play age of mythology that menas the game is improved a lot. Because in the past they didn't play the game and ignored it.

The whole segment between 6:13 and 9:12 caused me so much mental damage. Zeus snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on that one segment. Could have thrown in the free relic pegasus to scout the base and see that he had almost nothing to defend and just won right there instead of going for the tc and letting him mass priests

I just don't know what happened with that guy. He had 1k+ resources - especially food - for quite a while, yet still maintaining much much lower population. Massing resources this early in the game is just a no-no in RTS games.

thats so good I never knew you could stash myth units in the temple! doubt healing would work while they inside like the fortress or tc, when it should!, its dumb having to pull back your units that need healing when you can't stash them to heal, I know passive healing upgrades on units like Poseidon's cav regenerating hp works, same for Odin, or putting a hyrda in a temple or a behemoth would be very good to save them and save your micro, next problem is forgetting they are in there, but it becomes second nature not to if you are a healer.

Watching pro players on AoE2 / AoM vs. SC2 pros is wild. I love me some AoM and AoE2 but the skill gap between the best players on those games vs. SC2 is nuts. I know it came out over a decade ago but truly no RTS can push skill to its absolute max like SC2.

Greek players should always train 2-3 pegasi to scout points of interest. Mino rush works, but if you give the Egyptian player time and they mass priests, then you need to mix in toxos ASAP or just reconfigure your build to hoplites, toxos and manticores on age 3. Micro to demolish enemy backlines and mino + hoplite should win front easily. Duck was sitting on so many resources this game, which was his downfall.

Honestly they both didnt :D When I saw Daut is top 100 I was looking forward to see him play and was really surprised here how bad he looks compared to top players. Suboptimal build order, tons of floating ress pre 10 minutes, no clear gameplan. But Im sure this will change in a few weeks - maybe even in a few days. Maybe this video is even a few days old?!

I did indeed play horribly. This was my 4th game, and I believe it was Daut's 1st... I completely stalled after my failed rush. In hindsight I should've taken those forward settlements early and gone cav-tox. Even if I'd played well it's Daut, so I'd have lost anyway. :)
