That’s a lot of teams in a small area. It’s tough for me to relax in that situation

Man, this one was chaotic. This room is usually pretty full, but it was especially congested this time. I did my best to just absorb the input, but definitely got to me at times.

I have a question, how much do ya'll pay to play per night and do ya'll get a free ride to vegas if you win regionals or do you have to provide your own way?
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
This league is $9 per week to play. If the team wins in the playoffs, then they provide us with a travel credit and a big discount on the hotel rooms. Masters is $10 per match and same deal for travel and hotel.

Great kick by your opponent to end the match crazy way to end a hill hill on last ball match, hope you shook his hand and congratulated, didn’t see that , he seemed like a good guy, especially when he gave up ball in hand earlier when he wasn’t clear
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
Definitely! John is a good guy, and it was an epic way to end a nail-biter of a match. Good handshake and congrats all around at the end.

Stroking well with good pace right off the bat, Anthony. Unlucky leave on your first 5 ball though. @8:45 the 2 looks like it does not go. Billiard all the way, and John as a 6 should know this, however after watching more of his game, he should not be a SL6.
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
Yeah I trusted my draw and got a bad roll to get so straight on the 5. Still should have easily made the 6, but I didn't trust it. To his credit, John didn't give up in the match.

I think John giving you ball in hand for hitting the 7 first was the right call.

I think so, too. Good on him.

at 4:48 maybe consider high english and going one or two rails and take the 6 in the bottom left from our view. Just a suggestion. Tough shot out of the pocket into side pocket.
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
That's a good thought. I definitely could/should have reevaluated my pattern after getting funny on the 5.

@@OnTheSnap Yeah I know the feeling. Sometimes you see the pattern and get tunnel vision when you could just change the pattern.

It was crazy. Tons of foot traffic, my opponent's scorekeeper was sitting right by the table and had to move constantly, people were standing around, someone had a Roomba running by our feet and then put it up on the table in the back at one point... 🤦♂️

Crazy thing you check rack ask for re rack but didn’t check the re rack? Not judging just asking why you wouldn’t?
@balboia216 ай бұрын
Tough ending my friend! Love your videos, keep up the great work!
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
Good question. The re-rack is allowed in the rules, but I'm touchy about it sometimes. I've had lots of players over the years get annoyed by me asking multiple times. Even this time, the first time I asked, the guy rolled his eyes and said "yeah, I guess..." To me that indicates someone who's not willing to go out of their way to give their opponent a good rack, so I just decided to take what I got. At the end of the day, it's on me to get a good rack from my opponent.

And of course the other distraction…
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
So many distractions last night! Most of it I was able to tune out, but a couple things broke through.
@cosc1376 ай бұрын
@30:45 Those ladies distracted you. You got up and tried to reset, but I can see in your face that your reset did not work. When that happens to me, I usually go get a sip of a beverage. But the whole night was Distraction after Distraction after Distraction. You were also missing your kicks long all night. The first 2 kicks that you air balled brought john back into the game, and my brain has been there plenty of times. You grinded back to the hill though, and you were 1 good safe from the W. The bank 2 that you missed on your hill would probably have been that 1 good safe that you needed. But you played well. Can't win 'em all.
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
Good eye. I remember this moment distinctly. It was not just the ladies walking in front of me, but someone else talking about me across the room. My name stood out, so it caught my attention and broke through the din. Even after the first reset, I wasn't settled, and rushed an easy shot. Really needed the points from this game.
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
I've been trying to integrate this new one rail kicking system, and I don't have it dialed in. Every kick was just a hair off target. That final 2 ball probably wasn't the time to attack. Just have to use this as fuel for the next bout.
@cosc1376 ай бұрын
@@OnTheSnap I have been watching Shane's kicks a lot recently, and he aims short to adjust for the natural masse that causes the cue to go long. I do see him using a lot of draw to masse short off the rail at just the right speed. This principle may not be effective enough on your first kick because the cue ball needs to be closer to the rail and your object ball needs more distance from the rail, for this to really take effect. Using low left with a slightly less speed to maximize shortening was probably the play if you preferred to go right of the side pocket. However, in this case, going left of the side pocket and applying right spin might have been the safer play. Nothing kills us more than giving up BIH (Unless you are playing a very strong 6 or better. Then it almost doesn't matter😂😂😂). Either way, it was definitely not a gimme kick. I am enjoying watching your game. The more I watch you play, the more it makes me want to play a match with you 😁😁😁
@OnTheSnap6 ай бұрын
@@cosc137 Spot-on. I am working on finding the right aim point with my stroke based on the new system. I am pretty close, though, despite the minor adjustments you mentioned about massé effects. Thanks for the detailed comments as always! Do you go by Ryu? Can't always assume based on KZbin names. Let's set up a game sometime!
