Not sure I'd be able to fit a subwoofer the size of an apartment, but I'd be willing to try.

Questions I have are 1: what is the rated SPL (1W/2.83V @ 1M) of your current system? and 2: powered or passive? There are a myriad of manu's that will sell you something plug and play, or you can get a kit or design one yourself. All depends on what you are up to in your apartment. For example, I was perusing the buyouts on a site and saw some dirt cheap drivers that when put in an isobaric configuration, would be tuned to the mid 50's with an f3 of 39 in a less than 1CF box. Spl @1W would be around 86+-. 60w rms, but probably more like 30w for safety. Oh, the price? $16. All together ($4/piece). Then there was the driver that was ~$15 that would do low 30's f3 in a 1.5-2 CF box. Just thoughts.

I wish someone would have prevented me from wasting money on lesser subwoofers and wish someone would have advised me to buy a subwoofer with a minimum performance level of an SVS SB 3000 THEN save up and buy a second one as I could afford it. I wasted hundreds of $$$ as I evolved from my first home theater which was a home theater in a box to the system I have now. I also wish someone would have encouraged me to buy an AVR with PRE-OUTS or encourage me to buy a pre-pro much much sooner. If all you're going to do is listen to music you can probably get by with a lesser inexpensive sub, but to Joe's point, you're better off buying a nicer one and throttling it back. Hope you guys are all doing well.

I have PC13 Ultra (also had sb/pb 3000) in an appartment and no complains. I cant speak about older or badly build appartments but in a modern well built building its not an issue to have a proper sub. But if you can hear your neighbour talk, shower etc, then I would start looking new place instead of weak sub . :D Also if you keep listening some EDM/hiphop for hours many times a week its an issue.

Basically any apartment building will absolutely transmit bass quite far. Maybe even resonate the steel reinforcement in the walls. The lowest frequencies will penetrate just about everything. Then again, 40-50 hz will also penetrate so...

@@KimmoJaskari I run dual PC-4000s in an 870 sq. ft condo and the 4th level of a 200+ unit building. I've never received a noise complaint. The floors are concrete slabs, which do a great job of isolating noise between levels. There is noise transmission between walls, though, so I try not to play at reference levels too often or for too long. EQing helps a lot and allows for a more enjoyable listening experience at lower volume levels. I also switch to headphones after 10 PM.

A too powerful subwoofer would have the neighbors knocking on my door. I live in a apartment so I have to be respectful of other people.

You can control the sub, it's not overpowering until you turn it up too loud.

Thoughts 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ 11' x 11' x 8' small bedroom converted to game room. 2 SB 1000's Or 1 SB 3000 ? Due to room limitations I likely cannot do corner loading of more than 1 sub unless I stack, but if 2 then one would go in a corner and one behind my recliner. No neighbors to worry about, unless I consider my wife as my "neighbor" 🤔😁😂

Sounds like a REL T series or a SVS SB1000
