If this video was done in the year 2018 it would have been very interesting. The current state of China is overwhelmed with absurd lockdowns, the seizure of People's houses in Shanghai for quarantine, starvation in some places as a result of unannounced lockdowns. Not to mention the mass exodus of Foreigners which is unheard of. Thus your videos makes you look useless. Are you human or you are blinded by money because the current state of China does not call for apartment rental but a boycott of monster airfares, discrimination, absurd and bogus lockdowns with starvation etc.

Living in China can be very expensive if you stay in the major cities, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou etc. But if you can stay out of the foreigner "comfort zone", the cost of living decrease drastically, and you really don't lose much quality of life. The 2nd tier and 3rd tier cities basically have everything the first tier city has to offer, and the cost of living is 1/4 or 1/3 lower already. When it comes to 4th tier cities and up, it's easily half price there, and you still get your modern apartment, real 5G network and crazy fast delivery. The drawback of living in the smaller cities is your Chinese language skill better be on par or you have someone to hold your hand, because the English speaking locals drastically decrease as well. Also it's much harder to find western pubs and bars or foreigner gathering spot, if you miss home or want to find some friends with the same background, you may have to travel to the major cities.

That price is pretty insane, $312 per month, especially for a 3 bedroom apartment. It's even cheaper than my monthly auto lease from 23 years ago here in Los Angeles when inflation was much lower. Americans that's never been to China or don't know anything about it would be shocked and salivating over the affordable housing prices in China especially those of us living in the LA area.

This is a price only enough for an one bedroom flat rent for a week in London. From this, we can understand how underated is the Chinese currency! The true gdp of China is actually much more bigger than the US. Nearly in every industry and agriculture products or real estate, China is several times larger than the US, so why is US nominal gdp still bigger than China's, it is simply because the US dollar is still the world's dominant reserve currency, and the exchange rate still favors massively towards the US dollar. But it won't last forever, the US will eventually have to accept its true statue when it cannot manipulate international policy anymore.

That is a REALLY nice apartment! That would cost $2100->$2800/month here in my small city in Canada! Why buy an apartment though if renting is so cheap?
@xingjianma23972 жыл бұрын
There are two reasons for buying a house or an apartment. 1:Chinese people love owning their own houses because of culture,especially when the housing price has been rising for constantly 30 years . 2.China doesn’t has very mature apartment renting market as US or other developed countries, which means there may be some unpredictable troubles when you rent an apartment.
@Min-ti2cs2 жыл бұрын
If you know the local house prices, I believe you would prefer to buy a house of your own.The rent money was given to others.But the money for buying a house is still my own.I don't want this house in the future. I can sell it.My money is still there.If the house price increases, I will have more money, won't I?Therefore, Chinese people will definitely buy their own houses if they have money.Renting a house is just a transitional period.😄
@moonlambo52292 жыл бұрын
@@Min-ti2cs Uhh you should look into the Rent vs Buy argument more. If it costs more than 10 years worth of rent to buy a house that house is over valued. Also don't forget about sunk costs like insurance + property taxes + maintenance. Yes the value of the house could go up but it could also go down...way down. I have rich friends, middle class friends and poor friends. My rich friends only want to own productive real estate that makes them money. Otherwise they prefer to rent. My poor and middle class friends are obsessed with "owning" a house. There is a lesson in there.
@gongsilvia39922 жыл бұрын
@@moonlambo5229 The different part is china doesn't have property tax :) Meanwhile the maintenance fee is super low in china( ~2rmb/sqm) and Chinese ppl usually don't buy the home insurance. Therefore holding a house/apartment almost cost nothing in China. On the other hand, Chinese ppl need hukou( close to your driver's license) for many social benefits including free medical care, education etc and you need a permanent address for your hukou. In china renting a house doesn't share the same benefits comparing to owning one, that's why buying a house is a must-do thing in china

In China, development varies from region to region, developed big cities (Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, etc.) are very expensive, but the income there is also very high, while in places that are lagging behind in development, such as Guizhou province where Jason is located, prices are lower, and due to the lagging development in northeast China in the past few years, even a 320 square meter duplex flat in Hegang, Heilongjiang province, is only sold for 155,000 RMB (23,000 USD) thousand dollars), and that price can't even buy 1 square metre in the most expensive part of Shanghai!

So why the heck are those people living in coffin house for $1500 downtown??? They hate the countryside THAT much that they’d rather live in dirty and tiny coffin houses vs just go here and work literally anything….can’t a waitress even afford this??
@赵雷-v5v2 жыл бұрын
@@napaea9460 The Northeast is very complicated, and it will take a long time to describe it in detail. Fewer job opportunities and a more vulgar regional culture, as well as long-standing local political distortions.

@@mustafajuventino9964 I mean everything in China is very convenient, such as the 350km/h high-speed rail, no longer use cash, all payments can be made with mobile phones, almost everything can be bought online, and it can be delivered to your home in a day or two . So when you get used to all this, you may not be able to adapt to the pace of life in your country.

Thank you for sharing your living space. It’s getting very expensive in the USA. I’m in cols Ohio and 2 bd apt went from $750ish to $1200.00 in just 4 yrs. So, I worry about living costs as I get older
@petermanuel50432 жыл бұрын
The price is still comparable to some big cities if you are willing to live in the suburbs and catch metros into the city centre. Most big cities suburbs are bigger and have more in them than towns and small cities in the UK. My friend's housing estate in Nanjing had more apartments and shops than Leicester

Indeed, once when my boy was little, one day when we got up, we couldn't find him anywhere. We ended up finding him in the bottom of the mosquito net, almost touching the floor. It did save him big time from falling.
