The tenants need to get together and file a class action lawsuit against the HOA and its board of directors. They would win hands down. The HOA would be responsible for the legal fees as well. Some people don't pay attention until you hit them in the pocket.

There’s absolutely NO WAY anyone paying 1700 should have to live in those conditions. I’m appalled and disgusted that residents are paying 300.00 off the top in HOA fees for nothing! No pool, landscaping is horrendous, gates don’t work, etc…. It’s time the landlord/property owner is held accountable because this is a travesty. Good to see you Big Super! They are all renters though. I don't think they could sue the HOA directly. At best they might be able to sue their landlord since they are paying for something the landlord has a say in. If the landlord hasn't been filing complaints with the HOA or otherwise doing their due diligence to get the HOA to do their job then that might be something you could sue the landlord over since you are essentially paying them to do that. And I highly suspect that there is a reason the landlords aren't doing their job in this regard... that a portion of that money is probably making it's way back to them in one form or another. Just the fear of discovery in such a case being put forward might get you a nice payday. Not a lawyer though.

@@SheraDeletic1 Exactly! I have never been friends with any of my landlords when I was renting because at the end of the day your paying them to keep up the property. Also, best believe that money your paying your landlord he or she can keep up the apartment when things need to be repaired. Trust and believe the landlords are not living in those types of conditions so why let someone that is paying you every month do the same. I do not understand why the City don't fine the owners/HOA. The state needs to step in as well and do something ASAP. Lastly, the children's playground is a death trap. If a child gets hurt on that haphazard thing their parents can sue.

You have to be a property owner to participate in serving on the HOA board. She's a renter. Her landlord needs to be active in their community, not just pay the monthly dues. The absent landlord is a big part of the problem. HOA communities should have a bylaw that forbids renting/leasing out units. Owner occupied communities don't generally look like this

We had an underground water leak in our Chinese owned home. She never did repairs till city of Gilbert knocked on our door wondering why our water bill was so high!!! They forced her to fixed it yet she did nothing to fix backyard landscaping post all the city digging. I was leasing and paid to make backyard usable as we hoped to find a home to purchase worth the asking prices for years!!!! So sad because we would have paid for the right house at the right price with the right HOA that was worth it. Now I'm on the east coast and my husband is in northern IN and we are closing a state to buy with less corruption. They lured CA and out of state people in again just like in 2005. We sold a home in 2005 3xs what we paid to see it drop under what we paid just 7 yrs prior...then that same house sold for 5xs our origional price with only updates in paint and flooring!!! Boring and basic and not worth the prices. Propertt Taxes need to go up to pay for city services...police...Fireman need to be respected and teachers in AZ paid the least in the nation!

I'm a landlord with residential houses. Let me point out to you we don't pocket all the rent money. We pay the mortgage, taxes, insurance and maintenance. Especially insurance! It has quadrupled. Other costs have doubled in the last 2 years. I have a 1350 sf ft house in a older middle class neighborhood. Well maintained. I get $1500 a month. After I pay the monthly bills for that property I make about $300 profit. When the lease expires that rent is coming up to market scale of about $1750. If I can't get that I'll sell it because by the end of next year I won't be making a penny if I don't raise the rent. May sell it anyway because it's no longer profitable.

The parents are also raised in bad environments (broken homes, abuse, drug use in home, etc.). It’s a never ending cycle/revolving door. I think parents need therapy these days in order to raise kids or just not bring anymore human beings into this world if you have traumas and mental illnesses. If you are not healthy emotionally or mentally, you shouldn’t be trying to raise a baby, because the odds are low of raising a healthy human being. You can’t be raising anyone if you aren’t healthy in the mind yourself. Better yet, don’t even be in a relationship if you are toxic. That’s pretty much todays society because of social media, internet, deviance, addictions, what’s in our food and drink. We’re f*cked if we don’t start turning this around.

It's called inflation, of course it's on purpose. The US is more than $30,000,000,000,000.00 in debt. I calculated that figure at end of Obama beginning of Trump regimes, but now that they are telling you its 31 trillion, I know it's more just don't feel like doing the depressing math problem. This is debt to The One World Odor (spelling definitely correct). Put God 1st to change it.

She did NOT say that. What she did say is that the owner of the condominium she rents from and pays the rent TO , is the best 'landlord' she ever had. But the HOA CO and THAT manager of the whole complex of condominiums IS THE PROBLEM...NOT HER LANDLORD. The HOA controls the shared management and upkeep of the GROUNDS AND AMENITIES , LIKE THE WATER SYSTEM, THE POOL, ETC. and that is neglected and badly handled. HOA is a home owners association but it is not the owner of the home or condo that she rents from. the HOA is something else. Did you not see the whole video? The HOA gets 300 for management of the grounds and amenities but not the actual condo. It was not said (or i missed it if it was) whether the 300 is in addition to the rent of 1700 or it is included in the 1700. But that is not the point. Whatever they are paid they are obviously not doing their job that they are supposed to be doing for that.

This reminds me. About 40 years ago, in Pacific Beach San Diego went to look at inexpensive studio apartment. The manager opens the door and there are about a dozen people living in there on four mattresses bundled together taking up the entire area except for a very small aisle that led to the bathroom where there was a hole in the ceiling and you could actually see the bottom of the upstairs apartments toilet apparati. I was outta there in a flashmode.

I use the table as my sewing table and cutting table. I love it. We moved from 56th and Main on the First of September. We left Arizona. I'm so glad we did. It changed quickly. Crime shot up. We were fortunate though. We were grandfathered in. So our costs were low. But the police became a constant presence.

I grew up at 43rd Ave and McDowell. Birth to 19 years old. The apartment by my bus stop had multiple murders. Kids from my high school were killed while working at the Subway right there. My husband will say stuff about our current neighborhood and I’m like whatever, it’s nothing compared to where I grew up. I have sooooo many stories lol.

@@brucehernandez4406 My home state of Texas is now called the new "California." People from California started moving there by the droves around 2012. It's no longer affordable there. My daughter told me her rent increased for a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment to $2700. I told her just move out and buy a house because you will be better off.

Big Super this is the BEST type of content. As always, you meet the coolest peoples!!! Praying that lady gets her family out of that place. People always talk so much crap about Cali people and the state but in Cali they would never allow a community to be THIS bad. Illegal on so many levels in Cali, but here in Phoenix not so much...SAD! I'd rather pay extra taxes or fees than to know a place like this exists, no one deserves to live like that, especially not at THAT price point! I hope the lady knows she deserves more and will stop making excuses for her "cool" landlord.

@@davidguilford3356 name a city in Los Angeles with an apartment complex thats like this? The projects don't even look like this. You would never be able to name a place because tenants have way too many rights and protection against landlords in California for it to ever get this bad.
