Furniture maker Cat Hart and her husband Chaston bring new life to a run-down cottage: "Filled to the brim with rooster collectables and stray cats, this 1930s cottage was nearly doomed for demolition when we bought it in 2018. After a yearlong restoration, it has continued to be a labor of love to restore it to its former glory while putting our own unique stamp on it. Our desire has been to make every corner intentional and meaningful, so that the overall feeling is (hopefully) one of beauty and warmth without being pretentious." Yes, it was the same when I was designing my house. I want my home to look beautiful, but I want it to be comfortable and not to serious. I don’t have a lot of money so it took me three years and some of my pieces are bargain basement, and others aren’t. But I do my best to make it all fit together. I would never want anyone to walk in and feel like they could not sit and make themselves comfortable.

I like these kind of house tours because it's more relatable to the average person than some huge mansion most of us will never live in or want to live in.

The handmade furniture... the wheeled storage under the bed... the hanging lamp that twists... the cabinet for the tv... the styles of the chairs... the kitchen banquette... I mean their skills and taste in interior decorating is definitely amazing. The decor makes their home pleasant to live in and also practical because the storage they have is easy to use and doesn't overwhelm the small spaces.

Love this!!! I'm buying a 600 square foot apartment so would love to see more of these! But please fix the editing, it moves between the shots too fast, I don't have time to take in the rooms before it switches! Need to slow it down for myself or pause it. I would love to watch them if they're a few minutes longer, and I can actually see everything!

This house is set up a lot like mine. This just confirms taking the wall out to open up my kitchen to living room. My little home has no real dining zone. This is perfect.

As an owner of an 864 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 1 bath home (with an attached 624 sq. ft. shop and garage), these apartment size houses with living space in the 750 to 950 sq. ft. range are those that interest me the most. One small request: I wish A.T. would list the actual dimensions of the house, I would guess this one is 25' x 32'.

I like their philosophy of not making something so precious that you’re afraid to mess it up. I designed my home around me only and it worked… however, then a cat arrived unplanned at my door and my home was definitely not cat-fit 😂 I’ve had to come to terms with my beautiful expansive sheer curtains having a few claw holes and my lovely chair to have fabric pulls… eventually I will replace some things with items that are more cat proof… but because I’m not attached to ‘things’ (even though I’ve created a beautiful space), I don’t mind them getting a bit worse for wear… because my new fur friend is the greatest part of my home 🥰

It's perfect it's easy to clean I can clean the whole house in 45 minutes top to bottom it's cheap to heat and air condition and if I ever need to move it I can put it on rollers and move it with the truck

I personally don't think the place is that small lol. Love they are so happy and yes some clever solutions. It is nice to see not everything has to be Mid Century Modern, Farmhouse Chic, minimalist or Ikea/Scandi/Japandi. One minor detail there is something off putting about the gallery wall above the sofa - it is too high.

It's a cute house! I lived in Savannah for 6 years, not too long ago. Curious what part of town the house is in. Doesn't look like Ardsley Park, looks more like Thunderbolt or the edge of one of the areas that's being rehabbed.
