Lauren is a lovely lady that really knows how to decorate. Her apartment does NOT look like it is only 220 sq. ft.! It definitely looks a lot bigger, as she knew exactly how to place everything in order to expand her space. She has impeccable taste and that is because she lives in the fashion world! She has an eye for where she would place her furniture and accessories. I personally do not see anything wrong with her kitchen cabinets but if they are not her taste, she could perhaps get permission to cover them with peel and stick paper. There are so many varieties and colors out there that she could choose from. There may be other solutions, but I don't know what else she could do. If she decides to cover them I am sure they will turn out beautifully as she is so detail oriented.

I'd suggest either fabric inserts, temporary contact type, or fancy paper ( art stores), even woven placemats cut to fit, and use double stick low- tack tape. With patterns just center them. And to finnish off your wardrobe fabric? If you're not a sewer get iron on hemming tape. Press a 1/4 inch fold to each wrong side, then another half with the tape inside. It's hemmed! And to attach on top and bottom you can order a wider, more sticky double tape through Amazon, etc.

I absolutely LOVE this apartment. You wouldn't believe it's only 220 square feet, it's so warm, cosy, yet gleaming with intentional design touches. The reason I clicked on the video is because of the beautiful bedspread - Jaipuri hand block print is SO gorgeous and absolutely ubiquitous in India. While Lauren mentions that it's an English-garden vibe from Ballard Designs, I HAVE to take this moment to talk about how beautiful hand-printed block print even came to be in England, or associated with it for that matter! (hint: trade -> colonialism!) As as Indian, this is Jaipuri hand block print so dear to everyone back home! Would love for viewers of this channel to know a little bit more about the ancient technique that a lot of contemporary Western design houses are importing as "English" motifs when actually they are very deeply from the Indian subcontinent. Another amazing example of it is her amazing desk-chair cushion with Jaipuri block print! Beautiful space and design choices!

Beautiful, peaceful and well done space. Think of the kitchen as your dressing room since it's where you keep your shoes-Hang a wooden dowel stained to match your window and held by gorgeous carved or decorative brackets-use a fabric that is gauzy- maybe the same linen as on your bed - slightly see through in the daytime light and cover the entrance to the kitchen when you don't want to look at the cabinets another minute. I'm a white kitchen cabinet person but at least yours are new and they also compliment your window casement, so at least it's intentional looking even if you didn't get to pick them out or paint them. They add a touch of masculinity to the space.

One suggestion for your kitchen is to do inserts to your cabinets. Your cabinets are cherry in a shaker style. If you have any of the wall paper from your entry or if you are able to buy enough more to meet the amount needed, fill the inside of the "frame" on the cabinets with that wall paper. You can get large sheets of card stock (heavy paper) and adhere the wall paper to the card stock, then using an easily peeled off 2-sided tape adhere the paper to the doors. You could even do 2 different papers, one on each side of the card stock so that if you want to change the look you have a second option.

I recommend implementing one of the two below methods regarding the kitchen cabinets #1 Take the front doors off and store them somewhere for example, under your bed. Decorate the inside of the shelving as the area will now be open. You could drape paper doilies bent in 1/2 around the edges of the bottom of the inside of the cabinets and they will hang down. You will then have more room to place treasured items or plates, bowls, etc. in the newly created cubby holes. #2 Apply liquid starch & 100% cotton patterned material to the cabinet doors. Soak the cut material pieces in the liquid starch and apply to door and smooth out; no need to take the front door off of the cabinet. Cut the material pieces to fit the outside of the cabinet doors or cover the entire cabinet. You may even do this to the cross sections left showing if you remove the cabinet doors (as mentioned above). The liquid starch will not harm the cabinets and is renter friendly. In the past, I have created a focal wall on a flat wall with this liquid starch method and will testify it works well.
