Ape Escape OST (PlayStation)
For your enjoyment, here is the Ape Escape OST for the PlayStation. (Since I'm not aware of an official release except for a more or less remixed album, this is made from most of the tracks directly heard in the game. It's missing the less rhythmic versions of each song that would be heard when crawling while they were playing. Songs fade out so that they eventually come to an end. The track order mostly follows the only official album related to this game: Ape Escape Originape, found on iTunes at: itunes.apple.com/us/album/ape...)

DarkEvil87's Longplays videos follow these rules:
They can show you what a game is like
They feature no audio commentary, to purely enjoy the original audio that games give us and for those who find commentary tracks annoying
They're usable as walkthroughs if you plan to play through the games they represent
They feature no death, including a great reduction of the waste of time that can be seen in some regular gameplay videos
They're tool-assisted, exclusively via the use of some save states, to permit this reduced waste of time in some very hard games while also aiming for a bit less robot-like playthroughs usually seen in videos truly intended as TAS videos
They're played fast enough, but they also aim to be complete (no use of weird cheating glitches or cheats of any kind to go through a game faster than normally possible, no skipping cutscenes and I'm trying to collect everything, see every path and every ending, when it applies)

There is music actually called jungle? Yes I've heard it but maybe it was just so long ago I forgot it had a name. It's all just nauseating noise now on channels that have forgotten how to make cartoons over the years.

It's crazy how good Ape Escape is even without the music, but it injects so much energy and unpredictability into the game that it creates the entire atmosphere; light-hearted, fun and just a little bit chaotic and crazy, like you don't know whether that monkey is gonna run away or pull out a machine gun

Soichi TERADA is such an amazing music composer! Each track of this OST is really beautiful, and fits well to the corresponding stage! If a Remake will be developed one day, they DEFINITELY should give the choice to select between the PSX OST, the OriginApe version and the Remake version (like Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster)!

Before Soichi Tereda did this soundtrack, he produced house music, but after that he was heavily influenced by the Drum'n'Bass scene in the UK and made an album called Sumo Jungle. A game director listened to it and allowed him to work on this soundtrack.

This is the story of a guy with unfinished business. Long time ago, when me and my familiy were poor, i had only a ps2 for entertanment because the TV did not even connect to the antenna. While i had many games to play in my cozy loneliness (with a pizza, a coke and strict instructions to not open the door to anyone) my favourite always was Ape escape. Now, the thing is, i did not have a memory card. The console and the games were some remnants of what my family could bring from my country before moving out. We could not afford to buy one. So, while both my parents were out all day to bring food home, i was alone playing the game. The thing is, it was so fun i never got bored of playing it (this one, Gran turismo 3 and Heart of Darkness). My saves and progress did not matter because eventually i would have to turn off the ps2 and then start again. This made me speedrun the game as fast i could to, well, finish it. One day when i had a lot of time in my hands, i reached TV tower. Everything was so new, i never reached that far, i usually lost at crumbling castle (i got stuck there a lot of times becasue i did not know how to defeat the knight, the first one). With time, my console broke. Searching for my old games i found an old Ape escape disk, and a rush of nostalgia flooded in. I did not have the money yet to afford another ps2, but i was determined to finally reach the end of the game. A friend of mine gifted me with his ps2 and a memory card, ¡I was so happy to finally acomplish my goal i longed for so many years ago!. But then... my Ape escape disk went missing. I can't find it anywhere and im convinced it was thrown out mistaked as trash... I still desire strongly to finish this game and defeat Specter, i haven't even seen of youtube the final stages because i want to see them with my own eyes. I still want to go blind while playing it. I hope i can find another Ape escape disk somewhere in the future, is really hard to find one nowadays. Thanks for reading my rant i guess, have a good night.

What I loved about these silly games back then was that you had amazing and talented artists creating these phenomenal and intricate soundtracks, and now as an adult its great to come back and listen and really appreciate this music.
