Timing is CRUCIAL for a drummer to have and understand. The “Why” of this lesson is more important than the “What”. Great lesson.

Love the pattern and challenge. As an aside, any serious player of the tres cubano (or acoustic guitar) will find that “those finger slaps” with the non-dominant hand really crack loud because of your calluses! 🙏🎶🪘🇨🇺

Bro! Those drums are dope! I’m an intermediate drummer thanks to you!! It’s funny how I can do this exercise well, but lacking on licks or adding stuff on rhythms. When played slow sounds like caballo. And big ups to your primo/hermano. ❤

@@ericvargas7015 really depends… an 11” Quinto is a really diverse drum… I’m using an 11” size here in this video as the main drum… but I also think if you’re starting out an 11.75” Conga is great to work on tones and develop from because of the size and space to develop on.
