"Arrogance, that's the problem with most pilots, makes you blind..." - Blisk to Valk Blisk was right. That IMC pilot was arrogant and overconfident. Unlike the SRS pilot which was silent and quick with his victory over Bangalore, the IMC pilot was too busy being cocky and idiotic, ultimately causing him to lose. He started off fine but it got to his head. This is also proven in Titanfall 2 when APEX pilots are overcocky and overconfident due to their status, they underestimated Jack Cooper and the SRS entirely, and all of them paid the price.

I'll sum it up for you. Considering all the broken logic in this entire lore story, it took then less time to write the story then it did to animate these short stories. It's obvious with every single plot hole that isn't explained, or things that logically don't make sense like two grunts surviving and killing a pilot, not to mention a smart pistol miss completely.

I really love seeing the war from a Grunts POV. In Titanfall you see a Titan as another obstacle but as a Grunt it's a walking death machine. Pilots are also much scarier since they operate on an almost super human level

Seeing this tells me two things 1) The IMCs pilots seem to be heavily underqualified for the job as he fired the smart pistol BEFORE it locked into banglore 2) jump kits seem to have gotten a massive upgrade as pilots can fly now apparently. Which kind of makes Valk's whole "look I can fly" ability seem not nearly as special.

Lore wise, the Militia had vastly superior Pilots And Titans (Vanguard class), as per their principle of quality over quantity, thus producing skilled pilots and the advanced Vanguard class titans. Due to the availability of troops, the IMC are expendable and less trained. A militia pilot can take out squads of enemy titans with just their vanguard. In another trailer, it shows Jack and BT on a lone mission, surviving against countless titans due to their skill. And this is all represented when in game 5 pilots ( The 6-4 and you) assualt and commandeer an entire IMC battleship, the Malta, after wiping out everyone, including the entirety of Marines on that ship. 5 pilots. Just 5.

However this all depends on the type of pilot. The absolute elite (Jack Cooper, Briggs, 6-4) are all part of the SRS, and sport Vanguards. Your average militia pilot will still fair against an IMC pilot in a Titan or Pilot one on one, but not multiple. Only the SRS are skilled enough to take out squads and squads of enemy pilots and Titans, or take out their only equal (Apex Predators, as they are the IMC equivalent, although they are mercenaries).

I love how this reveals so much info on her tact, ult, and her heirloom. The smoke during the battle with her supperior is what helped her find him, making her realize how important smoke can be. The missles are quite obvious, seeing as she sees them do so much damage, and seeing as she now has the ship, she might as well use them. As for her heirloom, it's a pilots knife, which I really love. Best story so far!

I love apex and Titanfall but the trailer just wasn't realistic to the lore which I'm fine with.

They used musical leitmotifs magnificently! Love the callback to the Titanfall series, especially Titanfall 1, in this case, at 7:50 ("When Two Sides Go to War" - 1:15 , "Welcome to the Marauder Corps" - 0:21 - for example)! The Militia / Marauder Corps motif is also used in the main Apex theme (Brass section: 1:54 , 2:02). Beautiful, fantastic work by Stephen Barton, Erik Kraber, maybe Tom Strahle(?) on the guitar and everyone else involved, including Steve Genewick, I think! The Titanfall motifs were masterfully juxtaposed with Apex's specific motifs. Feel like I should mention this because the musical / sonic component is criminally underrated when it comes to recognition.

IM SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE RECOGNIZED IT!! fkin nerds :)) To me, the use of the Militia theme represents how disillusioned, frustrated, disappointed and betrayed the ex-IMC people became with / towards the IMC, after being told to do a suicide run, having their leader almost killed (by their OWN) for deserting, having their new settlement destroyed when all they wanted was to live in peace... After all those sacrifices, having your lives almost completely ruined... all for the sake of the authoritarian regime, that no human cost is too much for.. sounds a lot like extreme capitalism. Reminder: the Militia also originated from IMC forces, the settlers / colonists were given land and resources to colonize the Frontier, by the IMC, after which the IMC regime left their focus only on the Core Systems, then, after decades / centuries, returned to claim Imminent Domain, taking their land, treating the colonists miserably and, ultimately, sparking the war of the Freedom Fighters - the Militia I'm holding out for a Netflix series, fingers crossed, these cliffhangers leave me STARVING for more, theyre so unbelievably good
