Interesting question. I’ll try and answer as simply as possible. Both testing specifications are applicable for ball valve testing. However, API 6D is a design and testing specification and API 598 is strictly testing. Usually pipeline ball valves must be designed & tested to API 6D. The customer can also designate what testing specification they want. Hope this helps. Thanks for your comment.
