This is an amazing example of Prophets see around corners. This is 15 years ago. Elder Bednar was inspired at that time and as you listen to it you'd almost think that this was an address he gave this year. Very interesting that he is encouraging us to watch it before Nov. 3rd, when he will present an updated version. Can't wait. So grateful to live when we have living apostles and prophets on the earth

I'm always amazed at how the Lord continues to reach out to me even when I have somewhat fallen away and have become inactive in the church. I was a top contributer in second life for a few years around the time he gave this speech. This is my first time listening to it though, I seen his recent social media post and wanted to find this talk but actually forgot to and then it just pops up and to find out how personal this message is for me is amazing. Thank You.

Virtually every word of this talk is priceless. It never occurred to me that taking risks when I was young, just to be cool, was disrespecting my body and breaking the word of wisdom. I wish I had a better memory so I could memorize this whole talk.

This is a most remarkable message and sadly most people will miss it because of what he highlighted in it. Technology is wonderful if used correctly and in moderation. Where we can now see somebody across the globe because of it, we must recognize that devoting hours to technology takes so much away from our personal journeys to being with our Heavenly Father. These are troubled times and they are going to get worse. Those who have been reserved for these times and for those ahead are truly the warriors of Helaman’s day. As the Apostle mentioned, because much has been given, much will be expected. Let us, one and all, remain steadfast and stay true to the covenant path and the iron rod. God bless you all.

You are right, the Message is remarkable! The 2000 stripling warriors were few in number compared to the rest of the armies of men they fought against. Just like now there might seem to be few people remaining faithful to their covenants we have the enormous power of Heavan behind our youth, and they know it! I love this message, and I take hope in knowing that I need to work on my personal relationship with the savior Jesus Christ and I can help prepare for his coming by keeping my covenants and serving people who need to be served. I can only do my part, and I find solace in the fact that all of the calamity that seems to be happening in the world is not my problem to fix. Even though the media wants me to get discouraged and frustrated I can be joyful in Christ and be my best self for the right reasons at the right time.

Idk when this talk was given. I clicked to listen and when he said “Brothers and Sisters, I love you.” It struck my heart and encircled it with such a warmth it was incredible. I wasn’t expecting that feeling. Just a reminder: we are STILL that rising generation. We were told this when I was a teen and that hasn’t changed just because I am older. All of these blessings still apply to us adult type folk 😊

As we gather Israel on both sides of the veil, and help all nations of the world to be adopted into the Family of Israel, Let’s remember the those who have kept their covenants. The story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehies and the people of Zarahemla offers a powerful lesson on compassion, covenant, and unity amidst conflict. The Anti-Nephi-Lehies, having forsaken violence and buried their weapons as a symbol of peace, found themselves vulnerable as refugees amidst a raging war. When they approached Zarahemla seeking refuge, they were welcomed not only with open arms but were given the city of Jershon-a remarkable example of generosity and love that met both their physical and spiritual needs. As we reflect on this story, it is clear that the decision to support the refugees wasn’t universally accepted. Many feared and resented this generosity, leading to internal tensions and even efforts to overthrow the government to rid the refugees from their lands. This clash between selfless covenant and self-serving power echoes throughout history and holds relevance for us today. The Come Follow Me lesson on Moroni and the Title of Liberty highlights this very contrast. Captain Moroni’s actions exemplify the strength that arises from covenants, as he rallied the people around principles of faith, family, and freedom. His call to defend these principles stood in opposition to those seeking power at any cost, illustrating that true strength and protection come when we embrace unity and commitment to bearing one another’s burdens. In this way, we see the powerful promise that God stands with those who covenant to care for the vulnerable and oppressed. Just as the Lord strengthened the 2,000 stripling warriors in their defense of their families and faith, we are invited to covenant with Him to bear each other’s burdens, trusting that He will stand with us. This story encourages us to evaluate our own commitments to help those in need, welcoming them as brothers and sisters, and to find courage in a united stand for peace and compassion.

This is whybit is so extremely important to our salvation to have modern-day priphets and appostles. Past prophets and apostles could NOT have guided us, from the past, about the dangers of today.

I will never be okay with the thought of existing for eternity, I dread it in fact. I want it to eventually end. But we don’t get that choice. We can’t escape that matrix.
@TheWordsofChristКүн бұрын
You are an eternal being living in a physical body, and yes, you can't escape who you are-a literal son or daughter of God. If the thought of living forever feels daunting, begin living according to that knowledge today, and in time, you will no longer dread it.

The prophets of old saw the latter days. The scriptures, more specifically the Book of Mormon, provide answers to life challenges. God requires a contrite spirit and humility. Daily prayer will help us to hold on tight to the iron rod. The Savior paid with his life for our sins through his atonement.

You obviously didn't listen to the talk. He is warning of the excesses of everything including gaming, technology, social media, etc. He proclaims the value of technology several times. He is giving an apostolic warning about the excesses and evils one can get involved with using it. On Nov 3, 2024 he will follow up with a new apostolic warning . Issues of excess are so much worse now 15 years later. You have your agency not to listen to him but at your own peril.

Again as already stated several times on this comment thread the KZbin channel is NOT monetized. Which means I don't make any more nor do I control any ads that might be shown. KZbin is in the business of making a profit and they will place ads on videos. If you spend much time on KZbin you'll notice ads are shown on all video content.

Sorry about the ads and I won't ever monitize this channel. The words of christ are not for sale. KZbin has shared this talk for profit and since they own the platform nothing can be done about it.

Not one ad for me. Pay for the KZbin that doesn't have ads and you don't have to worry about it.
Yes, sadly… this channel is NOT monetized, but KZbin is still making money. However, they provide the platform, and without it, the words of Christ might go unheard.
