I love these interviews, it shows how tight knit this community is. Everyone has their own backgrounds and stories but everyone is there to enjoy this world and nature, and it’s sad that a few people with bad intentions ruins the image of thru hikers. I hope everyone stays safe and enjoys their trip!

The only time the phrase "God Speed" is mentioned in the Bible that I know of is in 2 John 10. Interesting video . . . Asking everyone why the want to hike 2,200 miles (or whatever it is) makes me think of the song lyrics Something calls to me The trees are drawing me near I've got to find out why Those gentle voices I hear Explain it all with a sigh Action Jackson articulated the reason for the hike pretty well starting @ 57:14

Ability to choose lifestyle. Gear, money in a bank to purchase food, a brick house to return to after travel and the peace of mind (lack of fight or flight) knowing you have reasonable access to basic survival elements.

A long distance thru hiker will usually carry forward a trail name to other long trails like the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) or the CDT (Continental Divide Trail). Especially now with vlogs being shared on social media. Thanks for watching.

Im hiking the full trail next year after I tie up a few loose ends at work. What are the odds of running in to a minority on any of the trails? Is this just a white guy thing? After watching this video, I feel like the odds of me running into an asian or a black are astronomical. I apologise for any racial overtones this comment may impart on the reader. Likewise, for inferring that I had noticed an ethnic pattern in the interviews. Let go and let God. Thank you.
@StickmanWilmingtonNC7 жыл бұрын
Well ... this question is certainly different but fair with no offense taken. I have been section hiking the AT since 2014 and have crossed paths with and interviewed a couple of Asians (from Japan) and one African American woman. This year, while I did not meet him on trail, I found myself following the Blackalachian => kzbin.info/door/sqMJa5ANHcEdU0Vu8rdC5A who finished the trail. I really enjoyed his perspective and view points and he was quiet funny too. You will meet a myriad of diverse folks hiking the trail. Regards, Stickman.
@GodBoxWagon7 жыл бұрын
Dude, maybe try to slow down and relax during the interview. Try to mirror the hikers moreso. At the end you are rushing them along with the same old "canned salutation". They have much more to share with you and I feel like you are cutting them short. You aren't holding them up any more than they want to be. I just feel like you are missing out on the best they have to offer by rushing them along. I feel like it's rude to not let them talk until they are done sharing. That's all
@Emisea236 жыл бұрын
This was cool and all but also so cringey and awkward to watch 🤦🏻♀️ I feel like you kindof cut ppl off/interrupt a lot
