Speaking as someone who had their husband die from cancer, Joe disgusts me. I was the one pushing him to go to the doctor in the first place. He was in the hospital 3 times. The only times I didn't visit was when they weren't allowing visitors due to COVID and when we had a snow storm moving in. He didn't want me to worry about driving in it.

I can not imagine how dispicable a person has to be as this guy in this story has to be, while his wife was going through cancer. My wife of 25 years has been batteling cancer for over 5 years now and we have made so many trips to the Dr' Offices, Clinics, Tests and Hospitals that everyone knows us both by name just seeing us together. So many hours sitting in waiting rooms. I couldn't imagine NOT being by her side for every second while she fights this battle. I had a short battle with kidney cancer a year before her cancer, and I figure it's Gods way of preparing me with all the thoughts and emotions she has to deal with. (Kidney removed, and I was fine.) It's my job to be there with her during this, and if it ends up taking her, there will be a big hole in my life! I have to be the stong pillar for her to lean on.

These stories of uncaring, unfeeling husbands anger me. I loved my wife and I did everything in my power to care for her when she was sick. She passed away 8 years ago and I don’t think of the house cleaning, just her and how I’m broken because of my loss. I suppose there are men out there that don’t care like this fool, but marriage is a union of love and the vows we take should be held up high….sickness and in health.

I was in another country, yes country, not county or town, when I was talking to my husband by video. He wasn't looking right, we talked and he admitted he wasn't well at all. Then he started slurring, so I called the ambulance from 2000 miles away, and they got to him ten minutes later, all why I watched on screen. In the meantime my son was throwing stuff into the car, whilst also looking for flights (no flights for two days). When the ambulance drove away, we locked the door and my son started driving. He drove for 23 hours straight, because I was too distraught to drive, and got me to my husband. Hubby lived, but he had severe sepsis and nearly died. That is the kind of stuff you do for your spouse when they are sick.

OMFG, what sort of man can't do shopping after work? I do it all the time, and I live alone. If you're that tired and hungry after work, just eat something first to rest and relax, and then do your shopping.
