Tech economy is at a point where it could fall at any moment, because of the dominance of apple within so many different faces of the industry. (phones, tablets, laptops, watches, desktops, earbuds, finders)

we need repairable windows laptops like framework stuff and we need repairable laptops that we build ourselves also the steam deck is amazing but windows has to go linux is the future of PC gaming as proton is amazing macos will really ruin the DIY stuff that pc gamers love and if apple takes over we will probably be forced to use apple hardware yes apple hardware and software is good but its closed source and not DIY and even now i am forced to use macos for school just because i currently cant really build a good laptop the only good "laptop" is the steam deck witch isnt even a laptop and its good because its repairable and more powerful then my m1 macbook pro we need more devices like the steam deck witch are fully repairable when you buy a windows laptop those are hard to repair and they allways have the worst operating system on it (windows) windows is so bad i hate windows so much linux should take over developers should focus on linux more so we get more devices that last longer and function better the us army even uses the steam deck to power there machine guns you are 100% right if everyone just makes software for apple stuff then everyone else suffers windows games are playable on linux using proton thank steam for their compatability making sure there games are future proof and getting linux to be so much more appealing

Key word is can. Apple is not interested though. Nintendo proved graphics don’t matter much in software sales. With GPTK Apple can compete with steam and totally dominate pc gaming market share…but Apple isn’t even remotely interested in that. They only want to sell machines geared towards photographers and videographers.

The thing Apple needs is sideloading, while a law in the EU has passed Apple will most likely lock the feature to just nations apart of the European Union and when sideloading with Altstore or Sideloadly there are detractors to it. Without sideloading cloud gaming is not feasible on ios, due to these apps being banned from the app store.

Desktop (macOS) apps are a different packaging format. But you can play mobile apps directly on desktop (macOS Arm)

Doesn't have to be iphone tbh. When Apple does something, every other companies follow. If they really started to focus on gaming, other companies like Google and Samsung will get in. Sure the latest games will require the latest chips but it will eventually trickle down to lower end phones. Competition is always good for us consumers. More people have smartphones (cheap or expensive) than PCs. It's a huge market that has only been tapped by Micro-Transaction ridden gatcha games, and once some big company like Apple puts their money into it, others will follow.

@@MetallicFear Google has already made an attempt. Look at Play Pass. But none of the big publishers are willing to put their games on Android. The newest Snapdragon chip (8gen2) is capable, but there aren't many games that utilize the full potential.

I don't know, it's not like apple has done this before, they launched the pippin in 1996 and only sold 42000 units when it was discontinued in 1997, so Apple has alreadly tried entering the video game market and after that disaster, they learned from it and never tried again. It's just like saying we want Sega to try again even though it was a disaster at the end, especially their dreamcast, which wasn't made long after apple's pippin. Don't worry, most people didn't even know that apple even was in the video game market at one point.

Yes but to be fair, this was pre-Steve Jobs. Back then Apple did EVERYTHING they could to stay relevant. I wouldn’t consider their efforts pre 1997 to be serious IMO. It was more of shallow dipping their toes in every category.

Apple needs to get major developers on board for gaming to work also they need to work with steam to get something like proton working on macos so they can play windows games like on linux also side loading needs to be a thing on iPhone for open-source games to work also we need some compatibility layer that allows android apps to run on iPhone because 99% of mobile games i play are on android also iphone needs to rival the gaming phones by includeing triggers on their phones and dual front firing speakers for ipad they need to have macos games playable on there they just need good devs to work on games for their hardware

you're absolutely right on that. But one thing Apple has over other companies is that they make the OS and devices for everything whereas Google and Microsoft only make OS for select categories. So if Apple was serious about breaking into the gaming industry, they would have the tightest integration in terms of cross-buy, and compatibility. (even though market share of macOS is very low. it's still an advantage)
