OK, let me get this straight. The daughter invites her parents and her sister and brother-in-law over at the last minute for dinner. And she's not even going to be there for many hours and she expects her husband, who apparently does not get along with the father-in-law, to take care of dinner and entertainment. She's a problem right there

Don’t you wish life worked like that? The only time I ever had someone “wait” on me was after I had major surgery and even then, I HATED it. My husband was so mad at me because 2 days after getting out of the hospital I was up and moving as much as I physically could. I was taught that to get respect you need to be someone worthy of respect. To be someone worthy of respect you need to treat others well/respectfully. My Mom always said you get what you give. I never understood people who think that they ‘deserve respect’ just because they are older or male or your boss or such. The golden rule we learned as kids still holds true as adults, “treat others how you want to be treated”. I never stop being amazed at how ‘entitled’ some people are, reminds me of a neighbor that lived across the street from me when I was younger she was so entitled that she had the nerve to tell us to trim the bushes in the front of the house because they were ‘blocking the view’. She was Notorious for ‘watching the neighborhood’ with her binoculars to ‘check’ on everyone’s house.

I just unsubscribed from a story channel like this because the DIL was so stupid and subservient to their in laws under the guise of being kind. It’s just stupid and not reality. At least this SIL had some backbone although the conversation between them is a little too long and he shouldn’t listen to it. We know the FIL is a jerk.
