The part when OP was having a hard time finding a job got me so pissed because it reminded me of that period where I was struggling to find a job. I wasn't even half her age, no kids (still dont), fresh out of highschool, had my diploma, but wasnt good or experienced enough for a first job. Those were frustrating, sad years, I was crying a lot when I came home, because I thought I had no place that needed me or wanted me, not even a 9 to 8 job like Mc Donalds.

My friend had a hard time too. She cried to me many a night. Thing is she was a housewife for years, in that time she got her Associate, Bachelor and Master's degrees. Obtained multiple other "minor" qualifications in IT, Finance, Social media marketing and Cybersecurity. When she went to interviews she either heard, she has no work experience or she was overqualified. She told them she was willing to start from the bottom. How the heck can you not hire someone because they are "OVERQUALIFIED"???? Stupse, I really hate some businesses. She finally landed a job in banking and is happier these days. That was just 2 years ago, she was 39 at that time.

Did you not hear the part that the mother has money saved up and has her pension? Besides depending on their credit score they could have gotten a small business loan or a grant that doesn’t need to be repaid. Try to expand your imagination when you’re not told the small details. Besides if the kids are thrown out I’m pretty sure the grandmother is taking care of them.

American medical bills are crazy. My Dad recently had a fall that was expected to take his life (he's 97) - ambulance ride to the hospital, medications, monitoring and 2 MRIs there, transferred to a bigger hospital, another 2 MRIs, medications, care, food, fluids - that's just up to now. From here on there will be at least 1 more MRI, possible surgery, and definitely rehabilitation, more food, more fluids, more care, more monitoring, and probably more medications. All at no charge. Covered by the government. God bless Australia.
