There are some disgusting things that my ancestors ate but we never purposely used Blood of anything in our cooking. For example my father's family ate Chitterlings. My Jewish Mama allowed Pork in her kitchen but drew the line at Intestines.

Same reason why my mom speaks with a slight New York accent, and I have a Scottish one, as does my father, my late paternal grandfather. Mom was born in Japan since my late maternal grandfather was born in Ontario but hung out with his cousins in Buffalo, NY and met my maternal grandmother.
