I live alone and I spend about $200 a month on food. Where I live, people would starve on $30 a month, unless you live on ramen noodles or something.

Cheapest single shopping trip to the grocery store I believe I had was $60, and that was only for a weekend's worth of food. I'm lucky if the monthly budget is $200+, even at a military commissary or cutting coupons.

I remember another video where the husband demanded that his wife and kids live on a food budget of $10 a month. Needless to say, his parents got involved and made sure their grandkids were being properly fed, and the wife found out that the reason why her husband was being a tightwad was because he was spending his money on his mistress. He was willing to starve his kids just so he could shower his side piece with gifts.
