It's those who think they are so special that end up causing the most trouble. A girl I went to middle school with bullied me terribly. Later in life I was the one who gave her a job because her entitlement ended her up divorced and homeless with no other education. I was volunteering at a homeless shelter for Thanksgiving and there she was. I really honestly felt bad for her. I offered her a job and helped get get an apartment. She worked without pay both never went without until sure paid me back for getting the apartment and furnishings. I made sure she had all she needed, food, utilities, clothes and shoes for every weather. I refused to let what she did to me makes me her. She met a great man and got married. She's a wonderful step mom to his 3 kids thru lovey get dearly. She leaned a valuable lesson and taught that kids not to bully but to understand and help out that less fortunate. I would gladly do it again.

Whilst it's "traditional" that the bride's family pays for the wedding, it's not obligatory. It's also "traditional" to make sure you know who is footing the bill before you spend the money. At least that's how we do it in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😉 My wife and I were a little older when we got married so we could handle everything ourselves. Our kids are grown now and doing fine, so I don't think they'll need our help paying for their own weddings. They're in their 30's with no such plans on the horizon, that mum and I are aware of 😊, but as long as they are happy, that's all we can ask.

When we married in 1977 , we payed it all by ourselves! And we were glad we didn’t have to borrow any money , my husband was a truckdriver and I was working in a store , so nothing special . We had more than eighty guest and it was a lovely ,great day ! Sadly my hubby died 8 years ago, miss him every day ! Love your family and have a great life ! ❤

Kids sometimes make weird assumptions. Jessica assumed they were poor with faulty reasoning and likely refused to go to their house, her mum likely dressed like a normal person the very few times she did manage to see her if she ever did, and she likely never asked. So she just had a narrative in her head and convinced herself it was true. I once thought a friend didn't have a dad because I'd only met his mum. But I was 10. It just hadn't occurred to me that his dad was probably at work so no duh, it was only his mum that I met.
