Congratulations on your new computer. Is there any reason why you didn’t choose the 16 inch? Btw I’m on an early 2011 still in 2022. 😂

Wow, early 2011...and it's still kicking, amazing! Yes, it's a medical reason. I had a spinal cord injury in the past, and if I needed to carry my laptop (and other things) in a backpack, the 16in would have been too heavy. When I commute, it takes about an hour back and forth. The 14in is more portable and gives my spine and back a less severe pressure during the commute. I do have an external monitor I use, though :) Thank you for your comment and question, Ed 😀

that's true. I had a Mac from work from that era, and some of the keys on keyboard get chipped after a few months. I would have sent it back if it was a personal computer 😄 Good luck with the purchase. I'm sure you're going to be satisfied. Thanks for the comment :)

im curious. First off congrats on buying it. Its a sweet machine. Im curious as to a 8tb drive? I actually started using dropbox with the offline storge option and not only does it work great but with a much smaller ssd internally it keeps it nice and wide open.

I do a lot of videos...and the quality of videos is going higher and higher. I plan to use this Mac for another 10 years (if it lasts that long), and I thought this is a one-off payment...instead of paying for online storage every year (which I still do for smaller storage). It's a personal preference based on the thing I do, no other reason. I don't think most people need this at all :) Thank you for watching and commenting!

How did it cost $7000? Even a top-end fully spec'ed out 14" should only cost you about $6000

This is the top end full spec with Apple care :) I live in New Zealand (NZD 7000), and here that is the price for it.
