Personally I’m on 15 pro max , so no need to jump to 16 lineup. However I’m waiting for the 17. On my side, no matter if the design change or not. As you said, the fundamental are there. I think the big challenge for Apple is the AI. With the launch of Samsung 25 series, and all the stuff of the GEMINI integration, even that I’m a big fan of IOS , I was really impressive by the Samsung 25. That being sad, the next big think for Apple for the 16 series must be the full AI integration and not necessarily the design . The design is short term argument, the consistency of AI integration is the ARGUMENT to not look elsewhere …

Listen-up, people: the “benchmark” was the iPhone 15 - almost exclusively because of the use of the USB-C Port. Smartphone tech has “peaked” - and not only Apple. These phones are now “toys” with no useful features that aren’t available on 2 or 3 year old devices. So, save your money and find a gently used phone preferably with a with a crap-ton of memory, swap-out the battery, and call it a day.

My old Samsung S9 had a faster USB speed of 3.1, than the new iPhone 16 with 2.0, and slightly slower than the new pro model of 3.2. The S9 is 6-7 years old. The S9 then had the glow thing that Apple is doing now. My current Pixel 7 non pro has more AI than Apple. The Pixel 7 still gets 3 more years. My S24 ultra with 512 for under $950.00 is ordered.

The camera control is a physical button, with capacitive capabilities. You have to physically press it in, it's not like the iPhone SE home button. Otherwise, good video!

I like my iPhone 16 Pro. As far as the camera button, I use it as a quick way to get access to the camera and sometimes use it to capture an image. As for the settings, I still use the screen for that instead of the camera button. Just having it as quick access to the camera was the plus for me because it’s just a simple push and go. Everyone else can use it for the extra stuff but I’ll keep using the screen. As for purchasing, I get a new phone every year and pass down my old one to my son. 😊

Got the 16 pro max and I love the action button for flash, use the camera control about 1/2 of the time and would miss it if it was gone. But something to note is Apple intelligence drains the battery significantly.

I'll be giving up my 12 Pro Max for the 17 Pro Max, most likely. My 12 handled everything I ever threw at it, so I'm sure the 17 won't disappoint me. However, due to the lack of innovation from these major brands, I am considering other phones as well. I forget the name of it, but there's a gaming phone that has the front camera under the screen. While I have no use for a gaming phone, I mentioned it due to the screen technology for reference.

I know what you’re talking about. It’s the red magic 9 pro right? I believe I said it correctly. I got my husband the S24 U, I am jealous. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. I got the 16 Pro Max and it feels like my 14 Pro Max. The one thing about red magic that I heard is they don’t update much, Samsung does all the time. Not telling you what to do of course just a suggestion, go with the S 25+ or ultra. Or just check them out, like go to the store and just hold them look at them.

Here in Canada eSim had no issues at all and the transition by the carriers was well handled from what I understand. There were no show stoppers that made the news. The battery life is an issue but I can work it into my schedule. Camera control works so well for street photography when you have to get a picture of the passing Cybeertruck or the latest ferrari in custom flamingo Pink that someone in your neighborhood just had to buy!

I charge my 16 pro max to 90 percent. I dont let it get lower then 15 percent. I start my day at 5am and im a very very very heavy user. I get home around 8 pm. My phone is literally on all day. By the end of the day, i am now lower then 20 to 25 percent battery. I love my iPhone battery.

I just got the 16 Pro at the end of 2024. I was coming from a 14 Pro, and the upgrade really isn’t that huge. I tend to upgrade every other phone, and this new model tends to do pretty well. I wanted to have the “AI” features available to me so I could try them out and get an idea for where the digital experience industry is going. I like your summary, “it’s the basics done right.” I use my phone to record my KZbin videos, and i need a solid camera to do that. I’m not blown away, but I am confident my 16 Pro can do what I need it to.

I prefer that Apple replaces the 5x zoom camera with a 10x 48mp for the 100x zoom in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. In terms of the back design, most of the leaks talk about two possibilities, one of which is correct. The first is that Apple keeps the same design with some simple changes such as the buttons. Their location may be lowered. In addition, the camera area becomes the same material as the device frame, almost similar to the iPhone Air or the Pixel design, which in some pictures is ugly and in others is good. We need more leaks to be sure.

iPhone 13 Pro Max is pound for pound the best device till date. There hasn’t been much improvements at all since the iPhone 13 series. And I don’t see anything worth upgrading now for the 17…I’m going to give apple till the 18. And if there is no decent change. I’m converting to a Samsung. That is right now way way better.

I currently upgraded from the iPhone 15 pro to the iPhone 16 pro in October. I have to say the reason being, the 16 pro has the micro camera feature to zoom in more that the 15 pro didn’t get. I can honestly say, I don’t use the camera features as much as I thought I would. The camera button on the side is very handy to have but, I often forget it’s there. lol. I love the desert titanium color more than the choices last year however, like you, I wish they had better color selections like they offer in the iPhone 16 models. I really wish they would make a red iPhone pro again as well as the rose gold color. My favor iPhone was the 7 plus in rose gold. I often go back and look at my old pictures and I’m amazed at the quality of that phones camera which leads me to the question, is the camera better,or the software, or both? S always thank you for your videos as you really do a very practical view of the phones we love.

I have found the new button to be convenient and helpful at times when you can’t quite tap the take photo or video red button on the screen. So is it a plus? Yes. It has in given situations made my life better.

It didn't go unnoticed that Warren Buffet dumped $150 Billion of Apple stock . APPLE are no longer the Prime smartphone available. The Google Pixel 8 pro knocked it off it's perch in 2023 and the Android Ultra 24 did the same in 2024. I use an SE2020 and can see no reason to update it and if I did it would be to android ultra 25. People make too many excuses for APPLE and it has in my opinion, seen it's best days .SIRI is an afterbirth that no longer works efficiently and APPLE is always playing catch up. It's days of being the MVP are long gone. Like Mike Tyson .

I upgrade if I wanna upgrade and I don’t regret upgrading from my 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max, I know I’m probably in the minority but I like the current iPhone design. The only thing I would probably change is maybe Apple may be getting some sort of under display dynamic island or something and then it disappears when it’s not needed so I get full screen in watching videos or streaming services like Netflix.

iPhones Pro and Max models without a minimum 6000 mAh battery aren’t worth their price. Entry-level models must have a minimum 5000 mAh battery. But of course, the numbers guy, Tim Apple, and his stinginess to save every dollar despite the huge margins they make on every Apple device will never let it happen. It's taken them forever to add 16GB RAM for entry-level Macs. So I guess the above is just wishful thinking!

Also, I recently went back to verizon from t mobile. with t mobile I had a 15 pro max. I know have the 16 pro max. I love both phones. I was actually quite happy with my 15 pro max. I'm into esthetics sooooo, I'm a bit dissapointed with 16 pro series. i noticed a difference in the titanium finish on 16 pm. vs 15 pm. I learned that 15 pm has a brushed titanium finish while 16 pm has a polished titanium finish. I like the brushed finish better. I selected the natural titanium which i had on 15 pm. love that color. Apparently with Apple they'd rather have people swiping non stop. It would be such a burden for Apple to give people such simple options. I know your pain. I get it. We lost everything in the Eaton fire. I have an iPhone 12 with a known factory defect that makes it impossible to hear calls. Apple support sent us on a wild goose chase to have it fixed by Best Buy and T-Mobile despite it being a factory defect acknowledged by Apple. Apple has refused to help us and the senior support agent was beyond rude and insulting. We are homeless and without a working phone. I am disgusted by Apple's treatment of us at our most vulnerable. I will NEVER touch another Apple product again.

However, i am really enjoying my iPhone a lot but there is ONLY ONE thing i don't like. I can't seem to download the music i have on my laptop, to my iPhone unless i pay for apple music. Sure, if i paid for music from iTunes, over years, i have access to that but any CDs or Music files i have on my computer, good luck. I can't figure it out
