My Vision Pro usage has transitioned into productivity and consumption. I’ve recently used it for completing my company’s annual budgets. Having a huge screen for spreadsheets has been amazingly productive.

same - it's a power user device for folks where a 4k display platform is crucial for seeing high resolution datasets and have a massive 'canvas' to digest information.

Oh geez, people don’t want the current version. You can’t get the very good version without supporting it. People are starting to not like phones etc, it’s hit a wall, it needs to evolve

The bottom line is this, Apple, Ray-ban, and Meta are in the infattcy of AR tech and none of their products are ready for the masses right now. They are all beta products. I feel it is pointless to pick which brand is the better because none of them tick all the boxes. I have a Meta Quest 3 and it has caught up with the majority of the mixed reality features of the Vision Pro and at only $500 or even at the $299 price point of the Quest 3S. Plus it can game in full VR like the best of them, and with a massive library of top notch VR games and experiences. But even still it is far too bulky and not at the best resolution and clarity for using all day long like Ray-ban type glasses are. Give this technology another 5 years of development and you will see enough improvements to warrant an actual discussion on the topic.

I know you mentioned 3d. I honestly think there was a lack of 3d movies that were actually good. Not every movie was Avatar or planet of the Apes.

I have both - Raybans for leisure, Vision Pro for work The temptation is to compare them because they cover your eyes and even the Orion doesn’t do what the Vision Pro does (yet)

I wouldn’t mind if Apple ventured into the smart ring and smart glasses market. Samsung is a smart company that will follow market trends.

AVP was coo when I experienced it but that’l excitement came and went. Now my Meta Ray Bans glasses I use daily just as sunglasses and having the ability to take photos and videos and AI features are a plus. I think they will get better over time and I think Apple will try to find that middle ground if they make their own.
@UrbanSasquatch3 күн бұрын
AVP is a stationary device, when Apple releases a AR headset that people can take with them, daily, would be revolutionary.

I don’t think it’s that people don’t want ar/vr/ai glasses wearables. I just think products that have come out haven’t hit the mark yet. You said it yourself- the Google glass sucked. The first spectacles were hard to use. I’m not sure about other ones. But when the usability becomes something people “need” then people will buy them. There just has to be enough usefulness there. With the Raybans, they’re cool and stuff but taking video with your glasses versus your phone just isn’t that much more useful or easy. And I have ai on my phone too. I think when you get displays that show you info and video on your eyeglasses that are so superior to pulling out your phone, that’s when people will buy them. They also have to be designed so that they look normal.

The AVP needs at least one killer app and it will take off. Unfortunately, Apple's tyrannical control over its software and hardware makes many third-party developers hesitant in investing in its platforms. Access to technical details needed to implement new hardware and software features for Apple devices historically has been either off limits, or costly to acquire.

Re wearing glasses issue: I was one of the few who had a 3D tv and watched the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony in 3D. watched various movies in 3D especially Prometheus. But generally didn't wear them a lot or watch 3D. 4K has replaced that. For the same reason not many people are going to sit at home wearing Apple Vision Pro, as it is another technology that isolates you from other humans, you need to be able to share it somehow. But people do wear glasses and it's just wearing a camera on your face is going to be an issue.

Meta are miles ahead. I couldn’t keep watching cos you don’t seem to know who you’re talking about as didn’t mention project Orion in the first five minutes.

Amazing informative content and genuine, but some episodes i have to switch off or close my eyes to watch! Who are these presenters? The information seems legit but you have one legit presenter, one annoying presenter and another that looks like an AI fake. Is this just another jumpboard to promote their other channels? 😏
