It totally makes for an awesome personal portable home theater! It's only missing video inputs and a way to output to a top-of-the-line sound system to make for a true premium home theater setup. The built-in speakers and AIrPod Pros sound great, but they can't beat a premium surround sound system. You nailed one of the pros though. Watching the Super Bowl and being able to take the screen with me into the kitchen for beer and snacks or pull it through the wall into the bathroom with me means I didn't have to miss a second of the game or commercials.

One thing I noticed that I hope they improve is that if you mirror to your MacBook it’s using the native resolution or 1440 but if you change to 2160 then it’s in low res. If you leave it at native 1440 then that screen is at that res and the other windows you pop up in VP are 4k. It would be nice to see them work with resolution scaling a bit better. I’m assuming there are some limits to the WiFi connection.

I have an 85” tv and I realize that I will need to get a new one at some time. To replace this tv it will cost me $6,000 to $12,000, this makes the Vision Pro cheep. You can’t compare Vision Pro vs TV. The main thing, you can enjoy TV with family or friends. Vision Pro meant for someone who has no family or friends and plan to spend time behind close doors. The biggest problem of Vision Pro is that it’s an obstacle between you and the world. It’s fun at first, but soon you will realize that it’s very lonely.

I watched a quarter on my normal 54 inch OLED in 4K on KZbin TV and it was definitely good, but when I switched, it was a whole different world! This is the way to watch sports! As was mentioned in the video, this is a one person experience. If he replaced his TV, his wife would need to buy an AVP, as well. If he has kids, he will have that expense. Obviously, if you have no family and no one ever comes over to watch TV, it would replace it, but not practical for a lot of us. Also, I am not sure how these replace the feel of a subwoofer? For us, we use the main system for music and movies, so we would still need the setup. It's impossible to justify as a replacement for anything in our household at this point. Unfortunately, I use Windows PC for work, so it couldn't replace my monitors, either.

I always force myself to look at the realistic expected lifespan of tech products and then evaluate based on annual/monthly cost. I’ve tried to rationalize buying the Vision Pro but I can’t because I expect the lifespan to be so short. I expect in 2 years the technology will advance so fast that I’ll need to buy the next generation and I can’t justify $2K per year on this. I would expect a $5K HDTV to last much longer. Some people might be able to justify the $2k per year because they spend more than that at live concerts and sporting events while with this you can stay at home and have the best seat in the house. We don’t know what the virtual tickets will cost though.

I can’t see how the Apple Vision Pro won’t succeed long term IF Apple keep working to decrease the weight, increase the battery life and lower the price. You basically have an infinite screen for streaming videos. You can theoretically make your entire room into a screen. You can’t get more immersive than that. And while Netflix and KZbin aren’t available now for it … they will end making an app if enough people use it. As for Spotify… if you truly care about sound quality, you aren’t using Spotify anyways and I don’t think Apple should allow them into the Vision Pro App Store anyways until they make their entire catalog lossless quality and offer Dolby Atmos.

Great - I'd been waiting for this video! I watch the last generation 3D LG OLED TV, honestly 2D OTA content mostly, but as an occasional treat I do immerse myself in a 3D blu-ray from time to time, but as this video shows, the AVP would seem to answer that need, particularly as the trusty OLED is getting tired (it's a 2016 model that gets a lot of use every day!). One other thing. Most TVs have a glossy surface that reflect any light source. Very annoying. VisionPro does not have that issue.

@@IwinMahWayI have a Quest 2 and have tried the movie theater apps. Sure it's cool but I prefer watching movies and shows on my 100 inch projector screen. To me there is nothing fun about having a headset stuck to my head to watch a movie or show. Same for when 3D TV's were the big deal. I had one and maybe watched a 3d movie 3 times over the period I owned it. Hell even my projector does 3D but I don't watch 3D movies even ones I own that are 3d like Avatar.

Not to hate, but this is the craziest take I've seen on this. I can definitely see the Vision Pro for productivity when you pair it with the Mac or even a phone replacement at some point in the future where you can just watch any video/movies on it. But as a TV replacement? Is a crazy take. What happens when friends/family come over? Or have a significant other you want to watch with?

A TV is stuck on your wall permanently; you can't move it between rooms, adjust the screen size, or take it on an airplane. It's not crazy to imagine this kind of device replacing a TV. In the future, you will be able to see another user's screens through your own headset so you can share the same experience.

@@fosterslover That's the thing though, you don't want to move the TV. TV's are stuck in the living room typically. When you go on an airplane or when youre on the toilet or anywhere outside the living room, you use other devices (phone, tablet) but not a TV. Yes the vision pro can possibly replace a phone/tablet sometime in the future, but not as a TV replacement that you typically just keep in the living room as a personal theatre experience typically

Novelty will wear off due to the comfort of this thing being nowhere near as comfortable as watching a TV with nothing on your face. Then you have the cable stuck to your head and then to a battery and then to another cable to provide external power which limits mobility. This is the typical reaction to a new product less than even a week old. Waiting for all the Vision Pro has been sitting in my drawer videos a few months down the line.

You are not mentioning a key downside which is the glare you get from the reflection of the screen (not outside light) off the lenses and your eyeballs in cinema mode. This is a widely reported complaint on the forms, and means you can see the outline of the lenses and general white haze depending not the scene. This is WORSE than a TV that does not have that all (turn off all your lights and watch at night - like in a a cinema). Its a deal breaker for the price (500-1500 maybe its worth dealing with it as a travel device)
