Garrett mentioning Nicole de Boer like nobody there would know who she was 🤣 "A friend of mine that played Ezri Dax" 🤣🤣
@TrekPanels
@TrekPanels 2 жыл бұрын
Lol, I think just because it was a Voyager panel - just as much that as de Boer only being on DS9 for the last season. But a lot of folks there probably didn’t know which character she played even if they knew the DS9 cast’s names, and since she wasn’t one of the DS9 actors present that week he wanted the sidenote to be easy to follow!

@@TrekPanels i think it was just a brain fart. I would expect every fan at that type of event, to know All the main actor's names from other Trek shows. Plus, despite the odd person here n there, if one watched Voyager 20 years ago, one also watched DS9 and still knows everybody. PS Nicole de Boer, (She played Ezri Dax didn't ya know 😏) was in the first CUBE horror movie alongside David Hewlett (Dr Rodney McKay from Stargate 😄)

Where is more of this, and why don't you just upload everything in one video?
@TrekPanels
@TrekPanels 3 жыл бұрын
Uh, you get what you get, as I got around to looking at all my footage after getting home - when finding toilet paper for elderly parents and neighbors was a higher priority than selecting and merging video clips for the convenience of strangers. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was never sure I’d ever get to the rest, so the realistic alternative back in March was not uploading any at all. If clicking to the list of videos under this account is too much effort for someone, that doesn’t hurt my feelings. But the four Voyager panel clips were uploaded over a week or two, not all on the same day. Take whatever makes you happy and leave the rest! 🙂 But I spent a lot of money to be there, and this is free without ads (I shouldn’t be profiting even slightly off of *their* panel), so let’s not be too picky.

@@TrekPanels Nice. All I asked is if you had more... don't take this so personally. Was this on the Explorer of the Seas? And how much was this cruise?
@TrekPanels
@TrekPanels 3 жыл бұрын
startrekthecruise.com has rates for the remaining available cabin categories on the next sailing (rescheduled to Feb 2022 from March 2021, for obvious reasons). As I mentioned, the rest are on this same channel - I’ve posted probably fewer than ten videos under this account, all Trek panels, so it isn’t time consuming to sift through and find whatever of mine might be of interest to you. Just click on my user name and then the “videos” tab for a list. 👍 But the cruise is *fantastic*, and a really great vacation - I just don’t think they’ll ever have the majority of the Voyager cast on at once like that again. (Robbie McNeill had to cancel because of a show he was producing and directing in Vancouver, and Beltran saw no appeal to being on a cruise ship. I think Jeri only came because of the affiliation with CBS and promoting Picard - it was her first cruise!) But it turned out to be, I think, the only Voyager 25th event that didn’t have to be cancelled or deferred a year. 😔 (And it was March 1-8, with the no-sail order hitting six days after we got back, so it was *close*. The first diagnosed community-acquired case in the US was only hospitalized three days before sailing, and there was only one confirmed east coast case in the week before we left. A cruise ship was quarantined off of California during our sailing (the first one in the US, and first after the Diamond Princess off of Japan, I believe), and we were all catching the exponentially increasing US diagnoses in news headlines while we were at sea. It had been obvious it was coming, but not just how soon the diagnosed US cases were about to explode.)

Totally agree. And considering the potential issues when 1 problem occurs, any problem, and the ripple effect of 1 problem while ON a cruise, way out in the Ocean lol. Hell no. Limited food, limited drinking/bathing water. Limited space. Nowhere to go if anyone loses their mind. Being around seasick people. Lol.

Interesting that Garrett has to sit between Mulgrew and Ryan. It seems they had friction on-set of Voyager throughout the whole time which all the other actors were aware of. Mulgrew was probably jealous of the female newcomer and the key role she took. Similar to how Shatner was jealous of Spock.
@TrekPanels
@TrekPanels 2 жыл бұрын
Mulgrew and Ryan sat right next to each other for seven HOURS of full cast photos with guests right after this panel (and it was all of them in the pictures, so they could have easily jockeyed apart had they wanted to), and they’ve sat next to one another at cons in more recent years (kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5XJfZeJarShj6s - in another clip from this panel, when someone asks if they know what fanfic is the two of them just look at one another 😂🤣 then crack up, obviously aware of all the J/7 fic), so at this point they seem, at the very least, older and wiser and ok with one another. Back at the time, no excuse, NONE of this was Jeri’s fault, but some of the *male* cast members had problems with the show taking a T&A direction for ratings and publicity, and they were all upset that Jennifer Lein had been fired. Just none of that had anything to do with Jeri herself, so shouldn’t have been taken out on her. But I’ve seen them next to one another for other panels and, as mentioned, seven HOURS of photos right after this, so if they were going to need a buffer that day, it would have been for the seven hour stretch, not the panel! 🙂
@PC-vg8vn
@PC-vg8vn 2 жыл бұрын
@@TrekPanels From what Garrett said himself, the fault largely rested with Mulgrew as according to him she later said to him, though not to Jeri Ryan, that she regretted some of the things she had said to her during Voyager, causing the friction between them. There was no mention of other male cast members being an issue, it was Mulgrew. But if they have reconciled then that's good. There was certainly no hint of a rift from their performances during Voyager, which I enjoyed, so their acting was unaffected.
@TrekPanels
@TrekPanels 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, other male cast members have said asides in later years and other retrospective/written forums (including in the Delta Flyers podcast from around that time, at least the extended versions), and in the oral history of Star Trek some of the producers did a little “both sides” that yeah, it started one way, but the other was NOT having it and was playing ball too (which, totally fair!!). I just don’t think the rest or males took it out on Jeri, which was obviously entirely correct not to, but the direction the show was going with the skintight costume and change in promotional tone for ratings bothered more of them. Obviously *none* of that had anything to do with Jeri herself, she just took a job and did it phenomenally, but there were multiple factors contributing to it at the time. Liking both of them a great deal - but there obviously being no excuse for some of that being taken out on Jeri at the time, which Mulgrew has publicly acknowledged in the years since - I’m glad they’ve at least gotten to a “they’re ok” place. Also because the Voyager cast members are all independently so funny, so their interactions with one another at cons can be so great for us to watch!
