Applecross and Strontian by BMW K75 in Winter

A November ride to Applecross and on to Strontian on my old BMW K75s.
Scotland in Winter really can make for some beautiful motorcycling.

Mike, love yet another of your films, especially your stills, obviously have a good eye and every time you seem to capture the moment. Does make you feel as though your there. Love the K75s such a timeless looking bike.

I did the 500 in mid May on my Trident 660 and like you, did it solo. Weather was a bit iffy but the pass of the cattle was I found after much hype a doddle. Really Enjoyed the trip and enjoyed ya video mate, brought it all back as if yesterday.

Lucked out with the weather on the Bealach Na Ba coming back over. Did it in July 18 - not raining but a big cloud sat on top so could see fuck all from the high view point 😂. I came around the peninsula to Applecross from the North. Narly single track that - safest to stop for the views. Biggest difference was having to contend with dozens of white road blocks in the summer 🙄. Oh, and the Applecross Inn was rammed of course - got a decent coffee from the Airstream wagon in the car park, mind 👍

@@yodagoat Yes, I've been a biker since I was 12 (50 years ago) and I've had lots of bikes. I've had 3 K75s and my current one is low mileage. I've done some discrete tweaks for more power, raised the gearing, and it just gets better and better, feels like new, and it's like a turbine.

Stumbled across this video by pure fluke, and was gobsmacked when I saw the number plate on the bike .... 'cos it's my old bike! I bought it new in 1991 and if you would like some old photographs of the bike please contact me on [e-mail] and I'll send you some. @@yodagoat Been looking back my diaries, I sold to a chap in Pittenweem in 1997 and lost track of it after that. It had colour coded City panniers then, as well as the full sized ones. Dug out some photos of it for you.

How was the camera attached to the helmet? It looks like it's moving separately.

It's just stuck on. It's the image stabilisation that makes it look like it is attached separately. The camera is a GoPro 7.

All you'd hear on this one would be wind noise. I've got a new mic set up now so hopefully I'll get some videos up with engine noise soon.
