I just realized that the filly playing the floor piano was actually hitting the correct keys that matched the melody being played. Props to the animators for that! Just wished they had also followed through with that accuracy for the keys played by the adult pony.

+Book Lover You know, it hadn't actually occurred to me that we hadn't had Pinkie and Rarity paired up for an episode before. See, this is why I said we needed more cutie map episodes in season 5, with varying combinations of the Mane 6. It would have furthered the story arc for that season and given us more insight into how well each of the Mane 6 works with each of their individual friends. Oh, as for that channel, no, I have not been a regular watcher, but I was made aware of that fair use comments thing, which I signed the other day. Thanks for mentioning it!

+Book Lover Well, the map hasn't even been seen yet so far in this season, so I don't know if they're going to use it or not, really hope they do though. It certainly is an easy way to put specific ponies together for an adventure. I'd love to see it even dispatch others, like the CMCs, or perhaps even Starlight for one of her lessons, but at this point I'd just be happy to see it used at all.

Applegeek Well it's still early in the season, just got done with episode 3 after all, it would be pretty silly of the writers to introduce the idea of the map and only use it for one season (Season 5). So I'm sure that they'll use it again. (Hope so anyway). I know, one of my hopes is the CMC getting called by the map, maybe just one CMC along with one of the mane six? And the other CMC getting called with another member of the mane six, so on, and so on. That could provide us with some entertainment. (I've been thinking of all sorts of ideas for that kind of scenario shortly after the CMC's got their Cutie Marks). XD

+Book Lover I'd even go so far as to want the "Background Mane 6" ponies (Derpy, Bon Bon, Octavia, etc.) to be called by the map along side members of the Mane 6 for various adventures, but I doubt that will happen for numerous reasons. If it were to happen, I'm sure a chunk of the fandom would revolt, as it would immediately start destroying fan fics and head canon.

The perfect gift for maud would be some kind of rare mineral or a book on mineralogy. A gift doesn't have to be an object it could be an event like taking her on a visit to see places like waterfalls - canyons and caves so she could take in the scenery and explore. memories can make great gifts. there's a surprising amount of stuff you could do for someone who likes the stuff Maud likes.

Okay, so I just discovered that I had an incorrect title for this episode. The episode I downloaded was labeled as "The Gift of Maud", when it was actually supposed to be "The Gift of the Maud Pie", which is now quite obviously a play on The Gift of the Magi. What's funny to me is that I made the connection between this episode and that story without even knowing about the episode title. XD

+Applegeek You mentionned getting your Luna figure from some in Quebec and as someone from Quebec myself, i watched a few of the episode in french and Luna's Royal Canterlot Voice is probably one of the only thing they did right when it comes to VA in my opinion. Lots of the characters in general just don't sound right to me in french so i'm watching the show original english version.

+Pascal Bouchard Ahh, too bad. Finding good voice actors can be really hard sometimes, especially for translations. Every character has a personality, which their voices are a part of, and the scripts are written with that in mind, so between the translation and different voice actors, I get the feeling a lot of the character personality gets lost. Anyway, funny you should mention it, because I did find a clip of Luna speaking in French on KZbin last night, and I thought it sounded awesome!

I would have to say the part that got me to laughed the most was when Rarity took Maud to the gem store, and Maud said they were stuck up, I call that a blow to Rarity since she can be a little stuck up.

+Apple Joy That was indeed funny, but I don't know that I would call Rarity stuck up. Not anymore anyway. She really has matured a lot over the seasons. Oh sure, she still loves the sophisticated lifestyle, but look at how quickly she drops everything to come to the aid of her friends, especially in this episode. That impression of Pinkie she did just goes to show how well she knows Pinkie as a friend, and she even willingly gets herself dirty when the need arises. After the Rarity episodes in season 5 and now this one, the only big thing that still really bugs me about her is the whole thing of her using her female charm to manipulate others, which was highlighted strongly in Rarity Investigates.

This episode reminds me of an O'Henry story I loved as a kid. A young couple are out looking for holiday gifts for each other. They don't have a lot of money, but each one has a prized possession. The wife has beautiful long hair and the husband has a gold pocket watch. The husband plans to give his wife a set of silver hair combs and the wife plans to give her husband a gold chain to go with his watch. But neither has the money to buy what they want, so each one sells their prized possession to buy their gift. When they come back together, each is stunned by what the other gave up to get the perfect gift but they quickly realize that the love they share is the real gift.

+Peppermint presents LOL, I remember that episode! You know, I can't help but think the reactions of Dexter and his friend to that convention were similar to a lot of people that encounter a brony convention for the first time. The nice thing about the Funkos is that they're not sealed boxes, so as long as you're careful, you can easily take them out for display, and then put them back in later, as good as new.

+funcoolfunfun Hehe, yeah, I suppose. I think all of the Mane 6 have had their own 4th wall breaks at some point. Still, I would never have expected someone as prim, proper, and sophisticated as Rarity to actually directly imitate Pinkie Pie like that.

+remco19 Well, I'm older than you, so don't feel too bad. I don't think this is something to be ashamed of though. Actually, looking at all the trash that's in most of the TV and movies these days, stuff that just highlights the worst humanity has to offer, I would say that people should be proud of the fact that they enjoy watching good, clean content that teaches moral lessons. For that matter, look how many adults still enjoy content from their childhood that's still around, like Pokemon and Power Rangers. Not really that big of a deal. ;)
