@@appliancepartspros It was a long drawn out war, and blood was shed. But the good guys won. Cabrio about 7 years old 5.3 cu foot so it was a $750 washer new 7 years ago, and the least expensive 5.3 I could find now was about $850, on sale .. and there there was the whole $50 haul away and $150 for the 5 year service contract (which I recommend), and in short over $1000 to replace and I cant afford that. So I figured the local appliance shop would probably try to get at least $600 from me for parts and labor and if I was going to put $600 into a $750 washer, I wouldn't do that and just buy a new washer instead -- which I cant afford. So, obviously, the logical thing to do, from a guys point of view is to buy whatever necessary parts and tools you need to do the job yourself, even if you have to spend $300 on tools -- you get to keep the tools. And if the total spent is less than what the repair shop would have cost you, YOU WIN. In short, the 7/16 bolt was frozen hard. Maybe I should have started with the impact wrench and the bolt extractor, but lesson learned and next time. Now I have to the tools. Ended up rounding the bolt. Completely. It was a PERFECT circle. Even the bolt extractor I did use, rounded it off even more. Had to use the Dremel Mototool, the Dewalt keyhole saw, a pry bar, bolt cutters, fire .. acid ... nuclear bombs .. to destroy the agitator plate and then chisel all the plastic remaining off the metal sleeve inset in the agitator plate before I could drive the gear box out through the bottom of the washer -- which fortunately, that part went well. End result: Quiet washer and new tools. Thanks for the video, it was a big help but -- no, its not as easy as it looks with a brand new washer. Be prepared for rust and corrosion and this job being a general nightmare if your washer is already a few years old.

For for those of you that don't know there is a two-step process to putting the tub onto the shaft splines.People are having problems with the tub not seating all the way down. First you get the tub hole onto the splines and it'll sit but the threads for the nut will not pop out. You have to line up the second set of splines and shimmy it in. Took me a couple hours to figure it out messing with my old one and the tub. Hope this helps.

I also had to use a strong 1/2 torque driver to remove the center bolt wash plate bolt. Make sure to use something like WD-40 before you try to pound out the gearcase. Let it sit for about 20 mins. You can thank me later.

Great video, but you're going to run into problems with old machines. My machine is 9 years old, I needed an impact driver to get the wash plate screw out, and ended up have to cut/chip out the wash plate, as after 9 years of heavy use, the metal connection between the gear case and the wash plate had corroded together. (I cracked the wash plate plastic from pulling up on it with metal hooks.) But new wash plate and new gearbox have gotten it back up and running and it is super quiet once again.

This error code indicates the shifter is not engaging the basket for spin or disengaging it for wash. Check shifter connectors. Check for clothing or another item wedged between the impeller and the basket that could bind them together. Check that the shifter slider moves freely. If all that checks ok, then you will need to locate the tech sheet on the unit and run the diagnostic tests to determine which part has failed.
