That's what I feel like that are going to start doing is when I go off to our bathroom on each day and just pray to him and private and I feel like he helps us out as Christians if we need help cuz that's what he's there to do for us I guess that it is good idea to bring our problems to him

My job is physically, mentally, emotionally exhausting. I had to go to the bathroom and just cry to God! I feel broken everyday when I walk through the door. It's like my whole mood shifts immediately. I try to walk in with a positive attitude and suddenly you're being bombarded with negativity. I just want to give up and walk out but I cant. 1 I need the money and 2 I just can't walk out. I've been a CNA for almost 10 years and It's hard to see myself doing something else. My down fall is over working myself also.

This is a big struggle. Many employers do not want people to have good boundaries. I found this out as a caregiver. I couldn't switch it off, and when I started to make boundaries, like not being called in my days off, my last employer had me resign papers that stated I would be willing to work whenever asked. That is crazy. When your employer will not respect your limitations and boundaries, then it's time to consider leaving.

Man, I’ve been feeling guilty because I don’t like my job. I just moved to a new city and this job gave me the opportunity to get here. I knew when I moved here I would keep applying for jobs as I knew I didn’t even want to be in this current role for even a month. Well 5mo later I’m still here...interview after interview and nothing has changed yet. I feel bad sometimes because I do have a job and that’s more than most. I feel bad sometimes like I’m ungrateful to the Lord. I’m really working to shift my perspective this is just a job...and that’s it. Maybe I don’t have to love it. But I definitely need to change my perspective because I’m still here.

This popped-up on my feed in Feb 2022 & is very timely. I am very grateful for the jobs I've had, my career as a Physics/Engineer Geek, and callings in various volunteer activities. However, my girlfriend, KLH, is a very experienced, dedicated Kindergarten Teacher who is having a rough time due to a change in management of the school, in particular. She has stood by me through rough times, and I ask that you lift up "Miss Kerry" in prayer that the Holy Spirit protects and encourages her.

Love your points and while I agree that it’s ok to simply work a job to earn money, many companies take issue with an employee who simply works as a mean to make a paycheck. A lot of companies want you to be committed to the mission of the company which also includes working more than 40 hours and not having a work life balance. Especially as you climb the corporate ladder.

I wish my work would just stay at work. I work in the casino as a dealer seeing people loosing money all the time made me feel so sad and depressed. After work I have to deal with my husband’s gambling problems. I feel like I never left my workplace. Everyday I become more and more miserable. Seeing all this sad people losing their paychecks and house due to gambling. And seeing my own family falling apart due to gambling is very depressing. The pay is good but not worth my health. I want to work somewhere that I can make a difference and feel proud everyday. I’m still looking for that jobs, hopefully soon I will fine it!!☺️

I been doing myself a disservice by not allowing people at my job to fail. I have ideas they acknowledge they need to change but told it’s not going to change and that’s the way it is. Yesterday I got the feeling that everything is about to blow up in their face but that’s not my problem to handle. They chose for the work environment to be the way it is.

Thank you so much! This video came up at a great time. Lately I’ve been feeling exasperated at work. Usually work is the most enjoyable out of the things in my life aside From God and family. I’ve been weighing the costs and benefits since other employers have expressed interest in me. However, I love the flexibility of my job I love how I can help others and it also gives me opportunities to focus on other areas and projects in my life and it’s flexible enough where I can hopefully go back to school. Thanks for this! Very insightful and practical! Especially the part where you said to set up boundaries. Lots of times, people bring home their work, although I can see that for some they don't really have a choice, like teachers, they have to make their teaching plans, but definitely important to have a time set apart for rest and leisure or one can burn out. And to have time for priorities especially family. Also the part of venting, I think is very true, but I also think that it's important to allow the person to vent a little especially if the work has been stressful kinda like a pressure cooker that needs to bring out steam or else the person might explode, but to keep it in moderation because it can be borderline complaining.

Been working there since 2015 , I only make 8.15 an hr , we don’t get breaks , it’s exhausting but I’m believing for God to make a better way that’s all I can say

Tanya Stevens, that’s a good question. I’ve been at a job 6 years and I’m hardly making anything per hour (overall, we’re not paid well). We’ve complained. We’ve told the bosses. Some people have left. Others can’t leave because they lack job skills, they’re older and it would be hard for them to get hired some place, or some need the flexibility of the hours to fit with being a single parent.

I was a caregiver for 15 years and I totally get it. You do love the people, and it's a precious thing to care for those who are disabled and that others neglect. However, you also have basic needs and have to make a living. It's a serious dilemma. If I were younger, and I didn't make the mistakes I did, I would have gone to school and got some credentials to get into a higher paid position. Look into some programs at a community college to the tech programs. I recently quit a job because of the pay, and the management was awful. I realized that it was getting worse and not better. I do miss the people and pray for them.

I work as a cashier. Sometimes, dealing with people is the most irritating job. But, think about it, these customers are only after what they’re buying. They buy things either out of need or selfishness. They use coupons out of either need or selfish, and etc. However the Cashier’s job is not to judge them. It is to serve both the customers and the rules of the store/boss. Meaning, often a Cashier will get into an argument and asked to stand on only as much as they can do, but also, as much as they should do. Judging and arguing is often not worth it. The Cashier needs to step back, let the Manager deal with it, or even let the customer win in what they believe, for it is only one customer, one person displeased. We can not please everyone. All we can do is be the best person we can be. For a Cashier is the last person a customer interacts with before walking out of the store. They are the climax of the movie and nearly define the shopping experience. So if the Cashier makes it a descent, even good experience, rather than judging, making argues, or denying freewill be done in front of them (good or mainly bad) than he/she is not just a good example of Jesus, but has fulfilled their role as a Cashier, the end of a movie they may even watch again.

My job has really been bothering me lately. I absolutely LOVE my job , the customers, and the dogs I get to see everyday but I do not like some of my coworkers, the ongoing gossip, and slander that goes on. I don't think my boss has 100% professionalism and has favoritism towards some coworkers. It's really been difficult this past month trying to stay happy , I'm a assistant manager and we use a group chat for communication between workers, I feel I can never disconnect from work and my home life and it has been straining on me. On my days off I'm still asked to do things related to work but do not get paid for doing them and am unable to enjoy a day off because my head feels like it is constantly at work and my phone is constantly going off that I had to turn off the notifications just to have peace and quiet. This video helped to answer some of the questions I've been trying to find answers too. Thank you very much

My job was out of my control, I tried to last another 2 weeks but it was impossible to do without fear/conviction, everyone was getting everyone to slave for themselves and uncaring in the job (poor work) and kept getting interrupted non stop, I tried all I could do or think I could do so I quit, full of jezebels and stressed out angry unsociable people

I'm experiencing exactly that same situation. Even before I got hired I already sensed that Jezebel spirit in that workplace while I was processing my requirements for the job. I was still an applicant but I've already received unprofessional words from the employer. And now, I'm regretting being in this company. Each day I try to be as positive as I can but then, things in the workplace are really uncontrollable and I am being scolded because of that fact.

Thank you, Mark so much, I've been so stressed lately because I'm a Law student and I really want to do what God wants me to do, but what if I miss God's plan for my life? I really didn't make the difference between career, calling and a job, thank you, your video helped me a lot🙏🏻🤗

Hi Mark, I came across your channel and have seen a couple of your videos. I like the videos and your approach on the different topics. My current situation is I like my job but I do not like the environment I am in. There is gossip, hyprocrisy, lack of organization and unprofessionalism at times. I maintain professional and try to be amicable but trust no one. At times I have felt like just quitting but I know to make decisions based on emotions it not always the best option. All I can do is pray and include my co-workers in my prayers. My manager is aware of the situation and complains about it and at other times seems to look the other way. Blessings to you and yours.

This was really good advice, I'm about to start a new job myself. The one that especially stuck with me was the one about not complaining about your boss, because it shows more about your character rather than theirs. I'm going to take these tips with me. I'm new to your channel, this was the first vid for me. Subscribed!

Great video that help put somethings in more perspective for me. I wish I saw this 3 years ago but seeing this now really helped. What you said about keeping boundaries and letting others fail or succeed resonated with me. I try to help those a bit to much because I didn’t have help succeeding but realize now that was overstepping. My boundaries of my job but it brought me peace to know that I helped someone... is there something wrong about that? Some questions I have are: if you establish boundaries at your job aren’t you also holding yourself back and not showing you can do more if you want to move to a higher position? For those who are more sensitive ( not having thick skin) how to not take everything so personally?

I am 63, widowed for 17 years. I appreciate your videos very much. I can't seem to get a longing for a Christian mate out of my mind. I have a handicapped adult son who I feel is one of my ministries. I have have had 3 dating relatinships only in the past 5 years. God clearly said no to all three. I just feel lost without a mate but want Jesus to be my all in all. Do you know older people who have married again? Are they happily married? We are so set in our ways at this age. Thanks for any advice. God bless!

Mark, that proverb on coffee...I follow it at least once a day! Thank God for coffee beans en the enlightenment to know how to grind them! Lol!😆😃☕ On the point on respecting your boss, I try to remind myself that I'm really working for God-it helps with focusing. However, I will say that prayer is a Necessity when that "boss" mistreat you and your co-workers. This was a great video...it gave a good perspective as to what is priority. Once again, Thank you Mark. God bless!

Hey, I really was searching for this and I have a question for you, I need help with this. With the first advice from "job, career, and calling" my degree is Industrial Engineering, (I'm from Honduras by the way, regards), and I just studied that because my parents told me, It wasn't what I really wanted, in fact I didn't know what I really wanted. BUT I converted to the Lord almost at the end of my college years, so I always thought that I was tied into being forever an IE (Industrial Engineer) because the Lord converted me while I was studying my career. But I have realized that what I really wanted to be since I was a kid, is to be a writer (about fiction books, like Narnia, Lord of the Rings, etc), but that the only reason I forget about it was because everyone said to me 'it's boring' [here in Honduras being a writer means poverty, we really don't read to much:( ] So what I'm really trying to say is that I want to make stories like CS Lewis did, like NARNIA OR THE SPACE TRILOGY. I mean fictional or fantasy stories that may be a good example of the gospel or the christian struggles and I think that it might be a good calling. But sometimes feel bad because if I make the books, I think I want to earn money with them. So I really want to know if it is correct to make fictional stories, that (as a christian) might help other christians, or may be entertaining and healthy for little children, or may lead to people to read the Bible and search for the Lord AND at the same time make for them (books) to provide me with money. Please can you give some advise? I know that CS Lewis did sold his fictional fantasy books, and are a blessing but I always have this doubt.

If you believe that someone would benefit from your efforts, then you should find a way to publish. You can start small and start authoring part time. The work that you put in should not be for free.

Njeri A Buncamper thank you I’m only 22 I’ll be 23 in oct. I’ve developed this 8months after my brother got married which was last year because I feel I will never receive anyone and plus my family makes over him and his wife and my mom told me since I have these feelings I’ll never receive my mate which makes me act worse about it and worry . Plus he was always less religious than me he didn’t save himself for marriage and I did and he party and stuff and I’ve always been the Christian sibling. My mom told me she never saw jealousy coming from me should I feel bad? Every time I tell her she gets upset

When I thought God had called me to glorify his name playing music I was so happy because playing music was something that I always wanted to do, because I love music. The reality is: I was forced to be a receptionist because I was prevented by my adoptive mother to learn music and forced by her to study that sh*t. Being a receptionist it's not even a career because I don't want to specialize in it. It's just "I go to my job I get my freaking money at the end of the month and screw everybody else". If it wasn't because of the money I wouldn't even wake up in the morning...i do truly HATE that job. Like HATE IT. Truly DESPISE for the career path that I was FORCED Into. So, not only do I not have a calling, I don't even have a career...I just have a freaking job that I hate. I'm happy I'm jobless. Because with a Job that you hate you're happier jobless. I'm deadly serious I've been jobless for over two years...and I was happy AF just for the sake of not having to be a receptionist. As long as I'm covered I'm freaking fine. And, yes it is painful that God doesn't want me to become a professional classical musician for his glory as I prayed to Him...but looking it from a positive perspective since I don't want to get married and I don't want to have children...I'm going to save a lot of money, time and effort: Expenses only for classes and violin rent around 250euros a month. Strings: 65 euros each six month. Practicing time: 5 hours a day. Rosin:around 30€. IIf He does not want me to Glorify his name playing the violin and actually having a musical career for his glory then I'll just spend my money in whatever the heck I want, watch Netflix the entire afternoon and travel around the planet in my holidays. It's easier for me not to glorify Him playing the violin than actually doing it. So let's be practical: better for me.
