Young people listen to this man. I am divorced twice. Adultery from both wives. First one was 19 years, second one 7 years. Neither repented nor wanted to reconcile. Just spent a year and became best friends with a much younger lady. She just broke it off after changing her mind on remarriage being adultery. Commit your ways to Christ first. I appreciate this man.

ApplyGodsWord.com/Mark Ballenger thank you. It has brought me back to my knees in surrender, prayer and worship. Maybe it’s a doctrinal issue or she’s just pulling the God told me card. I’ll spend my time being conformed to the image of Christ. That’s what’s most important no matter what. I’ve learned I have no control over another person’s decisions. I’ve been in ministry for years. You’re doing a great work and I’m blessed that God allowed me to cross paths with your ministry.

I just recently realized that the only way I can get a long lasting loving spousal relationship is when I don't idolize him or the relationship. I've had multiple failed relationship s, multiple heart breaks to understand this simple truth. No amount of effort or love will produce a lasting relationship unless I put God first and the man below Him. It's indeed a narrow road for a Christian.

Don't necessarily listen to the one about "opening up about feelings too soon". Mark doesn't have scriputral backing here. Some men ARE led by God to be over the top with you from the very beginning, because the woman is so broken that SHE needs that kind of reassurance.
@Michael-gy1iz5 жыл бұрын
For example, God specifically commanded me to the woman I'm courting I love her, and make it REALLY OBVIOUS, before we even had many dates or I even met her Pastor or family. So, of course I'm going to listen to what God tells me to do, not what Mark tells me to do (when he doesn't back it with scripture)

And being Christ centered. And also positioning ourselves in our walk individually with Christ. As well towards each other. I am 39. I have been single for 8 years and have refrained from fornication or just temporal dating or seasonal saying because I do seek and desire more. It has been extremely difficult and at times I feel like giving up. But, I know I shouldn't. And I can only wait in the Lord. Amen.

And a lot of Christian Men these days are not healed from past relationships and they literally never pursue . So you have women like myself waiting, sleeping alone,have married Christian women friends as our go to mentors. God knows we are in waiting. Sadly, we live in a world where moving at lightening speed is the norm. Then they wonder why their relationship has problems. God doesn’t use neon signs in the Bible. Let’s stay biblical, not cuteness oh how nice that sign looks above your head. How about God will use the mans word to usher in the Holy Spirit by the truth he speaks. How about God will give you a sense of the Holy Spirit when you are meeting him, also maybe this man would be bearing a gift from the Holy Spirit, word of knowledge, healing, discerning of tongues, not a neon sign. God works according to his will and that is always going to be aligned with his word. I say this with respect I care about your spirit and the future of your soul so you can avoid suffering. False teaching is going to hurt you. Read first corinthians 12: Great explanation of a Godly man. Respect.

I had this man who graduated from a Christian college years ago. I worked with him and with that would always show up everywhere I was outside of work, I eventually quit the job and then so did he. He continued to show up everywhere I was. He never asked me out and after 7 years, I gave up and moved on. I never knew what he was trying to communicate by following me around for all those years.
@zekedeleon17955 жыл бұрын
Judi Snyder I know this is four months old, but why didn't you go up to him and ask him? Or have a friend or co worker go up to him? Could've been a great relationship had one of you just made a move. Sorry if I'm being blunt but to waste seven whole years without making a single move and waiting when you could've found out earlier on whether he liked you or not, you really wasted yours and his time. This is assuming one of you had a thing for the other. Reading this did you guys actually interact in anyway? If not then, You didn't give up because neither you never actually made an actual effort to interact with one another, you can't give up on something you never worked at. This is why I'm not big on traditional standards of dating, the man shouldn't ALWAYS have to make the first move. And ppl should just say what they mean and say it as soon as possible.
@maureennomagugu32335 жыл бұрын
Honestly i think you waited for too long. If a man cant work up the courage to approach you then he's probably not man enough. For me its important that the man make the first move coz i need to see his courage, confidence and boldness. If he can't even approach me then he's not much of a go-getter is he? I see a number of Christian men in my church stalking me with their eyes and yet they never try to get to know me although im friendly to them. That's an indication of weakness to me. Either they have no backbone or they are not sure what they want. Eitherway im not going to wait for them or lower the bar for them or pursue them myself. I believe there is a strong, bold man of God out there who is not full of fear. Id rather widen my circle and wait until I meet a strong man who pursues clearly and strongly.

Hey Mark I’ve been struggling with my healing process in my heart. I asked God to reveal my ugly and now I see it but now I don’t know how to let him heal it. It’s not heartbroken from relationships (but I am struggling in my relationship because of my moods) but I guess from my attitudes and actions have led me to feeling like this. If you have any guidance from God’s word to help I’d appreciate it thank you.
@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger5 жыл бұрын
I would encourage you to talk to someone for awhile, like a counselor or very mature Christian to help you explore this. I would just encourage you to explore the spiritual side and the practical side of health/healing (like mental health, counseling, etc.). It takes work and effort to get better sometimes and we all need some help from others to help guide us
@JoyousinChrist5 жыл бұрын

I would also consider taking time off work and playing Christian music 24/7 for a few days and pray it all away. The Holy Spirit is our great physician and we know that he is the doctor of phycology the doctor of mental health, the doctor of our physical body, the doctor of what we should consume if we shall ask him. He is the great I am.
@fallingup19865 жыл бұрын
Hey mark, in regards to part of your second point, at what point can a guy say he is earning enough to support a family. What if you are working towards what God is calling you to do but still don’t earn enough at the moment while working full time? Should you have financial certainty for the future before pursuing? I ask because this is answered differently depending on who you ask and I remember you addressing this in an article where you said the man does not have to necessarily earn more than his wife and his earnings aren’t a measure of his score in life but he must be working a full time job.
@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger5 жыл бұрын
Yes, what you said in your second paragraph is what I believe. I believe a man needs to be working but if he does not make enough to be the sole provider or his wife works too and even makes more that does not disqualify him in any way. My belief is that the husband and wife together need to not be dependent on other people if they are to get married. So if they can do it together and the man has a job then I believe a man in the situation is doing what is needed to get married

Mostly good advice except the "professing love too soon" is a red flag. Who am I going to listen to... God or Mark? God told me to tell her I love her frequently.

Michael he was only talking about saying it right away... just take you time and after that say it as much as you feel like.... I’ve seen woman saying it in the first week, just keeping your heart safe ;) that’s is all

There’s actually a difference of love in the bible it’s called Agape love the Love God has for us and the love we have on earth the love as defined with our hearts and emotions

I agree with you. You can't putt a time stamp on love. I remmebr seeing a comment from this woman who dad proposed to her mom after the second day of knowing each other. It's 20+ years and their still going strong. If God told you to tell her that you love her go ahead and do so.
