What a beautiful mix of flowers and veg. I'm increasing the number of flower varieties this year to feed my wife's voracious appetite for cut flowers 🌻 Seems everyone has a Charles Dowding 60 cell trays LOL In the 70s it was said that 80% of cars had a Dire Straits audio cassette in the glove box! If only I could think of something ....

I love seeing your alotment changing as the months go by and it looks really lovely. But I get so jealous and long to be able to start growing flowers, shrubs, trees, fruit and vegetables in the garden I'm working so hard on creating. For a number of reasons I can't do it this year - my dream house is going to be built and is going to be disruptive for the next 8 months - so I have to be patient and learn from you each month.

To use garden tips best, please include country and planting zones. I am in USA, Florida, and some tips are good, some too early for me, and others too late. 🐊🤗

A little tip: cover your redcurrants while they are still green. I have learnt the hard way that the birds also like them when they're green, and you will be left with 0 berries on the plant ;)

I have a small lemon tree and a small lime tree in pots. They typically bloom in the early to mid spring, and have ripe fruit in November to December. They winter in my greenhouse. Some years, they get infested with spider mites and/or aphids over the winter.

Enjoyed your tour looks like a great place to spend a day. I thought your comment on you apple tree coming out much earlier then normal interesting. I use to think the same thing till I started writing down what I saw around the garden on the same week every year. I discovered things didn’t move too much from its appointment time. I learned that red light waves from the angle of the sun determined more when things would happen then temperatures. It would be interesting if you discover the same or perhaps not. I also tried your potatoes in a tub last year worked great, thx for the tip. Looking forward to the next tour.

A awesome & beautiful allotment April tour video Katrina. Yes it's been a dry April but hopefully it's not as wet as last May was but some rain would be appreciated because it's been dry in Scotland too ( which is unusual). We'll probably get 3 weeks or more ( depends on when this drought ends) rain in a few days when this drought ends or may regret wanting rain if it rained every day.

I love watching your tours. Being in the North of Scotland our planting schedule is a little later than yours, I've just planted my Charlotte's and my new herb bed is starting to fill out. Got lots of lavender planted undercover. The two new trees this year, different varieties of Japanese Maple, are loving their new home and growing well. Completely off topic, my daughter would like to know where you got your dress, she's obsessed with bees.
