We are a large family with 10 kids ranging in age from 23-8. We homeschool live on a few acres in Central Texas. With our family size, we buy a lot of groceries, so expect several once-a-month grocery hauls at the first of every month. On our farm, we raise great pyrenees, a handful of livestock animals and tend to a small garden. It's an adventure, and still new to us. So join us! Sometimes we succeed, and many times we don't.

Hello! Just a quick note from an Aussie viewer here ... Obviously the date's long past and you would have either used or disposed of your broccoli slaw by now, but if you feel you can't use any slaw mix - pop it in the freezer. You won't be able to pull it out and use it for fresh slaw (it doesn't maintain its crunch) but it makes a terrific addition to stir fries, casseroles and soups. A good way to get in those extra veggies and not waste anything! :D

Love Sangria made in a jug for the summer with fruit, I think must be a recipe online ,I don't like red wine but the sangria is so good, plus Happy Wedding Anniversary x

@OsoFarm (750-ml.) bottle red wine 3/4 c. fresh orange juice 1/2 c. brandy 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1 orange, sliced 1 apple, sliced 1 c. fresh blueberries 1 c. sliced fresh strawberries 1 (3") cinnamon stick Mix all together and leave for 2 hours or overnight ,I think you could leave the brandy out if you have sangria wine , plus you can vary the fruit I've used just strawberries and citrus fruit. Its super popular in Spain where it originates from and lots of places you can buy a jug of it with your meal

Just in case you’re not aware the bottle of wine that you are calling wine is actually sangria. That is wine mixed with fruit juice. It is not just straight wine as I believe you are thinking.

@@OsoFarm sangria I find is a drink that really lends itself well to warm weather. It’s meant to be served with lots of ice and that makes it very refreshing. Perhaps that would be a way you would enjoy it more. I could imagine your surprise when you’re trying to sip it as if it were wine and then realizing it wasn’t. I imagine you’ve never had sangria before correct?
