I’m a fair weather gardener. Haven’t been to the plot in ages because of this rotten weather. Couldn’t believe the jungle of weeds that had taken over. You really have to do little & often to keep on top of things. Learned my lesson 🤣 Your plots are looking great JB. Great harvest & lots to go in too. So rewarding.

Very nice harvest, JB. Scott did a Leek and Potato soup the other day and OMG it looks delicious. I can't wait to make some myself when my leeks come up. My rhubarb is that colour too, very pretty.

The PSB seems to have been a slow burner this year for a number of instagram and KZbin gardeners I follow and my own PSB too. I nearly gave up on it and finally had my first bit about 3 weeks ago then nothing and suddenly it is absolutely marvellous. I am sitting catching up on your vlogs while munching mine for supper tonight. It is so good to have something to pick again at this time of year that isn't Kale! Enjoy your leeks, that puff pastry and cream cheese leek tart sounds lush. I may have to buy some leeks to try it out as I don't have any of my own at the moment.

You mentioned seeing your video from a year before and how much the garden has changed and improved, but I'm watching this after having seen your latest garden tour almost a full year later and oh it's so satisfying knowing how much you've accomplished in just one year! I've had my home garden for almost 9 years now, and I look at the haphazard bricks that separate beds from the meagre mulch paths (I'm not a fan of grass because it's always couch grass that gets into everything and is so difficult to get rid of completely), and right now, I've got ridiculous amounts of weeding, pruning and tidying up to do just to stop the back garden looking like an eyesore, and somewhere that I want to spend more time in enjoying the plants I haven't accidentally killed off. 😅 Your garden looks fantastic here, and even more amazing a year later. 😊 It gives me hope that I will be able to get my own garden back to a state that I'm proud of!

JB dont forget to check under your module trays, I found the slugs were hiding there. I thought they were crawling up the glass and eating my stuff but they were actually living on the underside of the trays and coming out every night for their supper 🤣 Those leeks are amazing!

Great tip! I'm going to steal that for my next Potty mouth show 😃 It is the first place I checked though, and thankfully slug free. No attacks since! (touch wood)

Nice with so much stuff growing! and nice cucumbers even if you don't think it is something to cheer for! Haha love the Ocimum Sanctum monk kind of pronunciation 😄And I really need to plant some tomato seeds soon. just need to find some pots to plant them in...LOL, strawberries and rhubarb in april! bonkers! Haha commando/Rambo slug. My dad bought some kind of raised bed with legs that go down in some cup of water that supposedly prevent slugs from crawling up to whatever you grow in it. Wonder if you can make your own version of that to prevent your seedlings to get "slugged" 🤔

Nice video! None of my Cobra have germinated so far, just sown some more today. Once the mixed lettuce come up like that, I prick them out into a bigger pot. I use the seed tray as a holding area as they stay little. Nice way of getting succession going.

Hi jb I think those seedlings could be cosmos. What will you do with your basil seedlings now as if I get them to germinate they nearly always die
@JBNat Жыл бұрын
I've done basil plenty and generally I leave it until it's got a few true leaves and pop them into 3 inch pots and they do just fine. They do like it quite warm.

Your miserable weather is coming to us next week, unfortunately. By the way, why the rhubarb is growing in a barrel?
@JBNat Жыл бұрын
It's called forcing! If you exclude light from them the stems grow quicker and are that little bit sweeter. You apparently don't want to do it every year as it weakens the plant.
