I am a very enthusiastic gardener and used to have a big vegetable garden but I have shifted over to being much more excited about gardening for wildlife as you were saying. I also am putting in a pond this year and I really hope to attract frogs as your little pond has :) I definitely like lemon drizzle more than chocolate cake 🍰

Ali that was super fun and inspiring! Great music choice too. I loved seeing the garden center as well, it was huge!! Here in Maine, USA we are just starting to get into warmer weather and yard prep for planting. I can't wait to see what tomorrow's vlog looks like! xo Jonie

Very inspiring to see you out in the garden Ali, I am like you in that while I like the results gardening is not my favorite activity. I need to get out there and shift some firewood, do some pruning, and plant some garlic. Will you please show us your little frog pond? I love seeing your efforts to create a more ecologically friendly garden, it is something that's becoming more common down here in Aus too

Sea Pink is one of my favourite plants although I know it as Thrift. We would love to have a well drained garden but sadly ours is clay and far from well drained. The bottom half of the garden floods whenever it rains and we have had ducks swimming on the flooded area several times. My husband has a pump to remove the water and we have raised beds down there with bluebells from my father-in-law’s garden. We have lots of shrubs that tolerate wet conditions and beyond the garden hedge there are very tall trees which I love.

Love your garden! Unfortunately where I live, near a lake, we have a lot of deer. They eat almost everything but I love them just the same. I do have a small hellebore garden. The deer don’t like hellebores. And they leave the rosemary alone as well.

Firstly that compost looked really good! Also the mint will spread but you can just pull up the spreading bits from where you don’t want them if it goes too mad. I know what you mean about chocolate cake…..I often find it’s very claggy (is that even a word 😜) in my mouth and can become dry really quickly.

I'm so excited that I was able to use your QR code and discount in the US! excited to try wild. We're miles behind the UK and most of the world in Texas in regards to recycling/compost but I get infuriated by single use plastics myself and try to do everything I can to lessen my footprint. Love the vlogs, as per the usual!

What a clever vlog idea!!! Our spring bulbs have been coming up in the last two weeks now (daffodils have been blooming, tulips now beginning) so planting for us here (Ontario) will be in full swing by the end of May, so it’s fun to watch you plant in March🤯. Looking forward to seeing your hard work in bloom tomorrow!

Ali, I think I need a “Toadflax” in life 😂 what a wonderful name and the description of so interesting, love your idea of bird , bee & insect friendly garden, I would say ours is like that, large, mature, and looks lovely as long as you don’t look too closely, definitely in parts on the wild side 😂 but I never wanted a pristine garden much prefer a more rambling cottage garden. Hope everything grew well for you see you on the morrow😊 Love & Hugs, Suze. 🌼🌸🪻🌺flow🥀 🤗 xxx

Definitely not a chocolate cake person, but now that we don’t really eat sugar of any form (still remain polite and are not militant and do enjoy dining out) I actually can see why people like it when I do have a piece . Song of the day - I can’t believe I had this one in mind for today. Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell and yes another Canadian 😊.

Like many others, I can't wait for the next video to see how your garden is doing. What a lovely idea! I am like you. I actually detest chocolate cake. I don't mind a nice moist brownie but I find chocolate cake it's a little bit like eating sawdust. I much prefer a vanilla cake.

I havecats and love hyacinths, always plant my old ones in the garden after I've enjoyed them in the house. Your comment about them being toxic worried me though 😢 apparently it's the bulbs that are poisonous not the actual plant so hopefully they’ll be OK…

Great idea Ali to do a garden vlog a month before! Oooh can't wait until later today to see how it all looks now😀I have a postage stamp of a garden at the back of my house and a larger one at the front but I cram in as much as I can to try and get a bit of veg and a few flowers at the same time as hoping to keep the wildlife happy😀. By the way I was watching cosy corners shopping trip to Asda today and guess what I spotted? Right up your street Ali. It was a duvet set with toadstools on it😂! Catch you later❤

Thank you, Ali, for working with and testing Wild. Your positive review convinced me to finally place my first order (with your code, yay!). Other sustainable deodorants didn't do the trick for me, so I was quite hesitant at first. ✨ I loved today's video, enjoyed following you around the garden and hearing your thoughts about the plants and gardening for nature. (But not cats 😄) Looking forward to tomorrow's part two. 🌸And also: how can April almost be over already 😯

“A garden is nature on a leash.” (Not sure who first said this, but I prefer a loose leash in my garden.) Excited to see how the plants have grown… tomorrow! (Such a fun idea.) It’s Sunday here on Morro Bay (CA) and, coincidentally, my plan is to spread my homemade compost and plant the tomato starts in a raised bed. I can grow only cherry-sized tomatoes here on our foggy coast. (The hotter it is inland, the foggier we are here!) Lots of flowers blooming now, though. 😍🌷Hummingbirds are enjoying the pink honeysuckle. Love seeing your garden. So glad you’re planting for the critters.

Lemon Thyme deters cats so is perfect! Please put your peppermint in a huge, deep pot! You'll regret it as it goes deep with roots & becomes like a thick mat. The Erigeron Daisies are beautiful to cascade over hilly bits and near rocks it gets covered in bees so good choice! You've inspired me to do the same! ❤ Susannah

Thanks Susanah! My mint is taking hold so I may dig it and pop it in a pot. When I updated on my plants today I was so pleased with how they were doing, it would be a shame if the mint took over from them, however gorgeous it smells 😄

I didn’t know you could recycle plant pots at the garden centre. I will look at our local ones the next time we go. I tried Wild after your last video with them. I'm also not a fan of chocolate cake, neither is my 5 year old surprisingly! We both prefer a fruity cake, I love spiced pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. I'm hoping once we have our garden sorted that we can set up a compost bin. No point at the min as we only have lawn, I really want to dig some borders in though.
